This is going to be a long project as it will be money going the wrong way!!:D
I will be completely re-rigging my boat. The stock installation did not represent the kind of work we do and was just plain irritating every time I lifted the hatch. I am not sure where to start so I will probably strip it complete and start fresh.
The other and main reason is the boat was not completely safe in my opinion. Too fast for Bravo I drives and stock Bravo transom assemblies.
Due to injector failures we are building new engines also. Nothng crazy, 509 CI but there will be some innovative stuff and good power. We will be putting Imco transom assemblies with integrated hydraulic steering and will have a much stronger gimbal ring. I had already hand built the Lowers so they are good to go. The uppers are going to be Imco housings and shafts with XR gears hand detailed and assembled by us. The plan is to paint the transom assy's and the uppers the same blue as the engines and scoops.
Feel free to ask any questions along the way.

I hate to even put this picture in but it will make a good "before" pic

With all the work you've been doing it is no wonder I have not heard from you.

Good luck, Brian!

update?

This is the "long part" of the project. We are still gathering parts and trying to sell some to help offset the expense. We also have been very busy with the SCOPE Poker Run last weekend. I will take and post some pics later this week.
Thanks for the interest

Any pics of where the "taggers" wrote on the side?:D

You're right, that engine compartment is disgusting.

The last ride from Moabi was a fun one but I hope not to "have" to do it again!!! :D

That ride was a blast! Good thing we had Miguel to captain the 3 hour idle...

Sorry no updates recently on this project. We have been busy and need to spend $$$ to move forward.

Here are a couple of pics from the start of the cylinder head work. The first two we are enlarging the rocker stud threads from the stock 3/8-16 to 7/16-14.
The third piicture shows how far Mercury missed when they installed the intake gaskets. Also lots of combustion in the intake area due to Mercury installing the wrong size intake valves. The heads had 2.190 intake valves and the seats were designed for 2.250. They had this problem for about a year and I was one of the unlucky ones.

Going to follow along as well. Love watching this kind of stuff. Miss the old days of working on engines.

Thanks Ritcheyrch, hope you enjoy the build.

We made new water pickups. One on each sponson. The drive height is just above the bottom so at speed the water psi starts to drop. This solves that problem.

Ok here are some pics of what we are doing. This build will jump around a little because we are doing so many different things to this boat.
These next pics will show progress as we re-gel coat the engine compartment, strip and paint the Imco Gimbal assemblies & Imco upper Driveshaft housings.
