A quick question for those who own or ride in side x sides,

do you where a helmet when you travel in yours?

I don't know, maybe I should make it a poll with multiple answers cause I see a lot of people do on long trips or trips where they will really be "Off Road" but if its around camp or to the store or bathrooms or whatever they don't.

I am just curious what the overall feeling is on wearing protective gear or maybe what you have seen. I remember seeing quite a few accidents and deaths last year in the news from what seemed like low speed roll overs in these.

No, but probably should.

I hear ya. Do they recomend any special safety equipment, helmets etc?

On my quad I am pretty good about wearing my gear, esp my helmet. Sometimes if I am just moving it across camp I won't but you just never know.

I have 5 point harnesses in my rhino.

I would say that I skip on the helmet most of the time during the day.

When I go on night rides and I am driving agressive we usually wear helmets.

Like mentioned..probably should:)

I have yet to wear a helmet when in mine...I do make the kids wear them though. I also have 4 point harnesses and a pretty stout cage. I guess it would be a good idea to wear one I just never have felt the need.

and unless i'm really put putting on flats I make Chase wear one. My excuse for not wearing one is pretty lame too. I like to be able to smoke a cigarette at will. For the extreme stuff, which comes up often, I should be more committed to wearing one.:D

Yah it does it make it dificult to drink a beer or in most cases in mine a bottle of champagne while wearing a helmet.

Are you a dry brut kind of champagne guy? LOL!

I have seen picks with your kids in the rhino,
top notch equipment and you spared no expense.

I got no problem drinking with or without a helmet, I am still going to spill it on myself anyways! :drool

No helmet here. Probably would be a good idea sometimes but I really don't see it necessary. As for kids, yes I think they should have them on. If you read about most of the people hurt in these things its because they weren't wearing seatbelts or didn't have the extra safety equipment they should have.

Gotta love those Rangers, which is what I see the most, with a back seat in the bed, and some little clamp on cage looking thing hanging off the regular cage.
