Well I have started the "granny house" in my back yard for my mother in law. I have asked several questions of people on here, and they asked me to post pictures of the work as it progresses, so here they are.
( I am no photography genius, so I apologize for the quality and size:D)

Before work started. Then the forming process has begun. The drain lines are in place too!!

One thing I've noticed... and generally speaking of course... that kind of stuff seems to work when it's the wife's mom, but rarely if ever when it's the husband's mom...

A daughter is a daughter all her life. A sons a son until he takes a wife.:D

Anyone else see the symbolism I'm seeing here?

MIL, wide beam kind of portraying "the plank" like in the old pirate days. :D

This really should go into the "other customs" section, should I move it?

Harley Pauls, what do you think of me combining all of the threads on the granny house and starting a thread in the "other customs" section?

It would make it a lot easier to see the house coming together, and reference it in the future.

What ever you want to do is okay with me.

After all, it is RiverDave's Place, not RiverHarleyPauls place.:D:D:beer

How about a section for home construction projects? I dont know how hard it is to move threads but there are plenty spread out in the lounge and customs section.

Looks sweet. In the next year or 2 I may be starting with my home addition. Going from a 900 sq.ft house to about 2,500 sq.ft. Also gonna make the garage 50 ft deep. :thumbsup Threads like this help push me to do it. :D

Consider it done.. :)

Let me know if I missed any of your threads WhiteWorks. The only one I mmediately found was the "out of the ground" thread.

how many sq. feet is it cant you rent it out???

It is about 1100 sq feet.
I am really unsure whether I can rent it or not. First problem is will the city allow it, and the second problem is do I want people living that close to me, that I don't know.:skull
I guess I will see what happens.

It is now wrapped in lathe, awaiting stucco. I have to insulate, and drywall, before the stucco can go on.

Since the inside is still empty you should turn the space into a bar/gameroom theatre room with an office and bathroom.
