While my intentions have been to restore my beloved Taco, financial pressures have led me to put it up for sale.:swear This is a great boat, but does need some work. As some on here know, I found some serious rot in the transom this spring due to a corroded exhaust outlet and the transom will have to be replaced. It will also need a prop shaft and prop (this is starting to sound like one of those ridiculous ebay ads ). It is a project, but could make a real nice boat for someone willing to do the work.

The trailer was rebuilt about a year and a half ago, so it has new bunks, paint, brakes and tires.
It has a stock Indmar 454 with a velvet drive transmission.
It is a direct drive, comp ski boat
A little over 450 hours on the clock is original hours.
Joystick wake tower with wake designs board racks

A little history: I called Eliminator for a water pump a couple of years ago and was telling them about the boat and the person I was talking to said they only made two of these boats in this configuration with the big block. A pink one (mine) and a blue one. I thought that was interesting.

This has been a great boat for me for the last 7 years. Just wish I had the money to restore it :( Not even sure what its worth in this condition. Let me know what you think...

What is the price? Incidentally my neighbor in the keys has the blue one. ;) He loves it.

I don't really know Dave. The boat books out for around $10500, but given its condition I was thinking around $5000. I don't really know what its worth like this though...:hmm

I love these boats too. They ride real nice for a ski boat, have great power and don't look like all the blinged out Wake Turds that you see on the water these days. Wish I could keep it. :(

Anyone ever heard of insurance covering something like a transom? :hmm

Never thought to ask an insurance company to cover something like that? I bet they would though?

Your gonna get dropped on your policy if you do it though.. LOL Either that or they'll raise your premiums to get their money back over time.

Did you ever call Dana boats? I'm telling you I don't think it will be as expensive as you think it is to fix?

Their doing a lot of restoration / repair work right now and the work is good, and the price is right! :)

Check out the 79 Schiada thread, Spectra 20 thread & my 10' Schiada thread.. :) In their section.

Cool, thanks Dave! I may give them a call. I'm just trying to liquidate some stuff right now, but I'm sure I'll have better luck with an actually running, floating boat :D

I can tell you people are DEFINATELY not looking for a project.. Especially with the market the way it is.. YOu can pick up bitchen running boats for so cheap it's ridiculous.

Yeah I know I just sold my Sleek and it was a challenge! Oh well, the Taco doesn't cost me anything to keep so maybe I'll just wait it out! :beer

:beerBest deal is to take it to a reputable shop let them do the draw up on it and then they can go at your insurance for a fix, "since you hit a sand bar and that is what messed up the prop shaft and the vibration made the ex come loose and that leaked water into the transom and then it rotted out and almost sunk the boat" A buddy here has a shop and that's exactly how they do it, I mean why else do we pay all this money for insurance on these boats? In case there's something wrong. Positive they'll fix it under those lines of encouragement, but it has to be a shop that goes to them as well as you to boot behind but take it to a shop first!!!:beer
