As per R.D.'s hint to check out this section.
Here are some black and white photos from the N.D.B.A. between 1979-1983. I have many more both B&W and color, but they all need to be scanned so I will post more when I can. The first pic is my father who only raced for about five years. Hope you enjoy.

GREAT PHOTO'S!!
You know it always baffles me, with how exciting drag boats are too watch, why they are fading in popularity? Seems like all boat racing is to some extent except for the offshore east coast stuff.

Thank you.
Yeah, boat drags aren't what they used to be. I remember growing up on the rocks at Long Beach Marine Stadium watching 32 boat fields in the fuel classes. Now they can't even get 8. Oh well I still love it.
I have always thought that Blown Fuel Flat was the most exciting thing I had ever seen and wish it wasn't extinct. You know, back in the days of big balls and before the capsules.
Here's some more black and whites, enjoy.

That last one with the dude getting ready to bail is wild.
Thanks, I still have a few black and whites before I start the colored thread.
I can't remember who that was trying to exit the boat. I just remember it was at Chowchilla in the early 80's.

Sent you an email with the originals I had. They are actualy smaller than they are here. I wish I had them in high res. I would make a poster out of it.

During the 80's when the CVDBA was running things, I remember going to Chowchilla and Red Bluff. I know there were a few more venues down central Cal valley, but those were the ones I remember having the most fun at.... big crowds, lots of people!
