I honestly haven't been trying to lose weight, and I haven't weighed myself since the way in a week or so ago, but I think I have probably lost some weight just due to stress. I'll be starting my actual weight loss program tomorrow.
Today is the last day of Soda's, beer, cheeseburgers, etc.. Tomorrow we start trying to win the contest. :D

YOu can do it Dave!
I have done this for a while, if you need a workout partner, let's go!! I have fallen off the wagon but I started again on Jan 5th. (not doing cigalerts thing) I have been at it hard, and I have tons of tips and advice (seen a nutritionist, and I used to work at a gym)
Let me know if you need menu ideas or work out help.
Start off slow, stay consistant!!) I know you can do it!

Maybe I should've just said soda's and beer.. LOL I went to taco bell for lunch today. But I'll work on that as well.
I'm going to have stacy re-instate our gym memberships today, and start working out a few times a week.
RD
I've lost 5.3 lbs already.:thumbsup

I think I gained a couple pounds.. :(
I stopped drinking beer and soda, but with all the stress I've been smoking like a chimeny and eating more I'm sure.

Take it one day at a time, RD. That's all you can do and all you should do. There's still 3.5 MONTHS to go. :)

You might consider just switching to diet sodas instead of eliminating them. Coke One and diet Pepsi aren’t bad at all; either is diet Dr Pepper or Mountain Dew. I still hate diet Coke.
Walking really helps too. Personally, I’m not the gym type. I would never start a gym or workout program, simply because it will fail. It’s never been a part of my lifestyle and at 42 years old – that’s not gonna change. Walking/running, however, is something my wife and I can do on a regular basis – so that’s what we do. No real lifestyle change, so don’t get all discouraged reading the stories about working out. Simply get out and walk. Fukk, half the time I walk in my Doc Martins.
Same as the diet soda – it’s a change that’s not too painful and you’re not giving up anything, except for 150+ calories a pop.
You can easily shave off 1000 calories a day doing the-above. :)

Coke Zero and Diet Dr Pepper are pretty good for diet drinks. :thumbsup
When you realize you have to walk an entire mile at a brisk pace to burn off the 120 calories in a can of soda they become less appetizing...

I like Iced Tea as much as sodas, so I just switch over to Iced Tea (non sweetened) Pretty simple transition for me.

I'm thinking your right.. I keep saying I'm gonna "start tomorrow" and more or less I did quit the soda's already (not beer though yet LOL)
So I told Stacy last night.. We're starting this thing today, her response and my mom's response was a little disheartening.
"We have to BBQ all these sausages and hamburger meat tomorrow or it will go bad.. Start the day after tomorrow."
So Feb 2nd, I'll start with the rabbit food bullshit for the next 60 days.. LOL

Had Cornflakes with berries for Breakfast this morning, as opposed to the usual 12 inch Submarina sandwich or cheeseburger. Went for a mile long walk last night with the dogs..
Of course I ended up drinking down at the pool hall so that probably cancelled that out..

Should have been eggs and some turkey sausage & cheeze omlet, no toast with all the salsa ya want?
Cornflakes?? Hell,,, Why not go to Lawrys Prime Rib and do the full route? Potatoes, Yorkshire pudding,, hell, ya would have scored less with Lawrys.
Cornflakes is the number one no no next to a chocolate malt.

I gotta disagree, Ross. I understand your point, but it's a little exaggerated to say it's the number one no no next to a malt.
Cornflakes and berries have a lot less fat and calories than eggs and turkey sausage and cheese. They also have a lot less protein and vitamins, though, which I think is your point. Protein helps you to not get that hungry feeling.
Here are a few tips from my fridge, Dave. Eggbeaters are no fat and if you mix them with ham, or another lowfat meat, you can't taste the difference. By themselves, they suck. When you go to a restaraunt, you can order your omelets with eggbeaters also, so it's easy to stay on the breakfast diet. If you like oatmeal, it's great for your heart. I mix in 1/4 cup frozen wild blueberries and two packets of splenda, then microwave it as per directions on box. Not everyone likes oatmeal, though. I usally have a Clif bar or yogurt about 2 hours later for my protein, or eggwhites, but most people can't eat those plain.
Also, the lowfat shredded cheese tastes no different than the regular, it just tends to not melt as well. Fatfree is horrible. The Veggie cheese slices, however, is pretty good on homemade cheeseburgers.
It's all about experimenting with what your taste will allow. Try the lowfat products. You'll find they'll probably end up as staples. Try cutting down from whole milk to 2% or 2% to 1%. The lowfat mayo is good, so is Ken's Steakhouse light ranch dressing (I think it's actually better than the regular hidden valley ranch).
One other thing, jack or rum and diet coke has 1/2 the calories a beer has, even CL. That's why I stopped drinking beer.
Good luck.
It' not the fat ya gotta watch, it's the carbs IMHO.
Yeah it's a big stretch compairing them, but cereal, breads, rice, pasta,, sugars and starches mostly off my list.
I meant to exagerate because the biggest part of my weight gain was cereal and beer and I'm really pointing to myself.
I'm loosing about .6 lbs a day now cutting them out.
Guys can loose weight easily, girls it's tough.
But guys gain it faster, girls usually much slower.

I agree with that. It's tough! I have about 10 I'd like to lose. I'm on my way to the gym right now.
It's my opinion, that you should have some complex carbs, whole grains, in the morning. Your body needs carbs for energy. But if you're trying to lose weight, you shouldn't have any after about noon or 1 oclock. And Corn Flakes are not whole grains :) Granola (eat it with FF/Splenda sweetened yogurt it's like desert), and oatmeal as well as whole grain bread, which I really don't care for.
But many people say no carbs at all. I just think cutting any one thing out of your diet completely is not healthy and will be harder to stick to in the long run.
Sounds like you are making good headway, though! Keep it up!

everything you just said ...... i pretty much agree with.:thumbsup
so many people think that going low-carb is the answer, when in fact in can just backfire in the end. i know many people who have gone low-carb with success, only to re-introduce carbs and then blow right back up.
i am a firm believer of having carbs. especially for breakfast and postworkout.

lol....Your just waisting your time if you think your going to win this deal.;)
% wise you would need to loose 25%+ to beat guys like mobildj and boatnam. That would put you close to 175lbs (Around 55lbs lost)
If you got to 195 I would chalk this think off as a victory...
Honestly the guys that werent in the 275's+ lost this deal the frst second the competition started. Loose weight and eat better for you, stacey and those kids you want some day;):)
