my buddy just picked it up for 1900 in chatsworth. more pics later!!! 455 with a berkeley. motor is locked up. Everyhting is freeakin cherry:champagne:. back to back benches, 2 aluminum fuel tanks. blueprinted pump. motor looks perfect but wont turn. blew the oil filter gasket and ran it dry. look similar to your old boat Dave? bHAHHAh

Looks a little like my old boat.. Top is different and it's a jet. ;)

Is it a 4 stringer boat?

hey dave you talking about the 79 with the outdrive that was bought by roughrider? if so, the funny thing is he lives 2 doors down from me and we have been good friends since birth.. and now we own identical boats

6 stringers? 4 up to a bulkhead then 2 up further?

Or is there an extra 2 on the very outside of the boat?

yep the 79 runs like a champ. as for mine.. not so much, pulled the motor this morning to check out the damage.. made for a good laugh. pics to come

I was kidding around. its a 4 stringer, and yes Kyle ran the boat up at castaic and just the other week he went to laughlin with it. Had a blast and it ran great other then dropping the keys in the water at Needles Marina. Were in the process now of converting over to through transom.

And now onto the 73. So remember the 455 seized right? Well needless to say it was a wee bit worse then that...

Still havent gotten 7 and 8 out. Number 8 rod hit number 7s connecting rod cap and bent it in so its wedged on. Probably going to end up cutting off the stud. Number 8 cylinder was cracked and both cyclinders 7 and 8 were boogered on the bottom from shit slapping around. So onto the real question. Chevy or Ford?!

Booby bouncer had a motor for sale pretty reasonably in the spam section. Built it for his spectra jet.

UPDATE- as of cinco de mayo we got it to run thanks to a donated lower end by NAFLASH. maiden voyage is in a few hours.. fingers are crossed lol. if all goes well you can count me in for the regatta idea

They are painted on. Just got back from Pyramid. Fuckin hurricane up there. Motor ran ok. Holley carburetor is a peice of shit. Basically breaks up at 3/4 throttle. And we struck oil somewhere. Pics coming tonight.

went to castaic to find they were blown out and wouldnt let anyone launch so we continued up to pyramid which was white capped with big rollers. boat ran pretty good just needs a little tuning and tinkering. blew a trailer tire on the way home... scuffed the boat a little, bent the fender, demolished my teak trailer steps, and to top it off my spare is a carlisle :swear guess now i will have to look into getting some lowpro's :hmm

aside from a few disappointments along the way, nice finally dip the boat in the water for a few hours lol

Yea its in good condition. Don the mind the water spots it was extremely windy that day. Boat ran O.K. and that all that matter. Anyone wanna donate a 650 carb?
