If the blower is high on the transom you 'should' have a suction hose that reaches to the lowest point in your bilges. Beware the moving parts. The idea is to evacuate the heavier than air gas vapors.

Welcome with an 'e'.
That's our 22' Schiada Daycruiser. In the second picture the hose had been picked up to clean the bilbes.

I no longer have a bilge blower. I open and inspect the under deck area every time.

Inspect EVERY time you start it? Or just the first time of the day? Seems like the blower deal would be much more safe!

Schi-502...that is a Bitchen Ride! I thought you were supposed to turn the blower on every time before restart after sitting for a bit? for fume reasons?

I open it every time before starting. I run pretty hard. Last Saturday I got 62.6 @ 5,000 rpm. I open up when I come off plane just to check for any liquid accumulation. I then turn on the bilge pump and wait for the whirrr of the pump running dry. Close up and anchor or dock. And then start all over again.
Thanks for the props. I love the boat. It's only for sale because I can't keep up with the others I run with.
I get to the 'stops' just in time to see them loading up to make the next stop.

Vacaville is on I 80 between Sacramento and San Francisco.
Skee, There was no other reason than I'm wanting to clean up the rigging and anchoring of cables and wire looms.
I have a DP/DT swithch on my bilge pump and blower circuit. First position was blower second position was bilge pump.
The other switch is running lights.
