Looks Great, Lee's guys kick ass!! Why did you cover in between the 2 inner stringers under the bow?
By the way If you want that trailer freshened up and repainted, I got the guy for you.

I'm guessing the woodwork in between the stringers will be a mounting point for a ballast tank, but that's just a guess.

I thought that at first as well.. but usually if they do a balast tank they just secure it to the stringers, and the top (what you would see) would be the ballast tank..
If they put a tank in it, and then glassed over it that could make sense I guess, but then I would think you would see some fittings for filling it and draining it..

Well, if you don't like ballast tank for a guess, how about a mini fridge? :)
By the look of it, you would figure it serves some sort of specific purpose.

I'll go with mini fridge.. :D I agree, it does look "purposeful" whatever it maybe?

that actually is the ballast tank! it's a fiberglassed in tank. no inner tank.

Question for you Schiada guys:
What year did the 22' stop/start the "drop" in the side of the boat. I look at the high limit 22 and this one and they look completely different from the side.
Sorry if I didn't explain what i'm talking about very well.

For those of us not in the know why is a ballast tank needed in the bow? Better performance in rough water conditions?

we're going with a 540ci twin turbo setup. it is the older "race aero" kit with rebuilt ray jay turbos, but i think it should still run pretty hard. it won't be the fastest, but it should hall some ass and look good doin' it. its going to be setup like a ski race boat, open stringers, quick, release back seat...etc. it'll be a while though. thanks for the good reviews everyone.:D

The balast tank isn't needed for recreational boating.. The boat rides smooth enough. They fill the balast tank up to add weight to the front of the boat to help "displace" more water. Then lays the water down for the skier being pulled in a race etc..

The boat looks great, 22's run very well, have a ton of room compared to 21's and ride considerably drier in rough conditions.
SkiA36 has one for sale with a brummett race aero kit in it, it runs 102

yah...the motor came out of my dads 22rc. we were told it ran over 100 with that motor. however when my dad got the boat, the water pump fell off the first run out and over heated the left side of the motor and blew out the exhaust manifold and the turbo. so we had the whole motor rebuilt, new dart aluminum heads, and both turbos rebuilt. so we'll see what she does with the fresh motor in her. this is my dads 22rc.

i would love to go with the gentry turbos, but i dont have $6,000 to spend on turbos. besides, im not running an engine hatch. im doing an open boat with zoomies like your boat. thanks for the info and the :thumbsup.

I know Carson has the set that came off of my motor from the last rebuild. For far less than $6k i'm sure.

Ask Carson about Lynch's they only had about 20 hours on them. they were all polished housings etc. I have no idea what they are worth. When I see him Sat I will mention that you will be asking him about them.
