So, the top of my right foot has been hurting for about 4 months. I finally went to the doctor because I couldn't stand it any longer. I thought it may be broken.

Come to find out I have Arthritis in it. Now I have it in my left shoulder, left knee, left ankle ant now my right foot. WTF?:(

When you are young, you just don't realize all those crazy sports, and stupid crap you do will hurt you down the road.

The worst part is, I am only 34. :(

Any of you old farts dealing with this crap as well?

Shit, I shouldn't have this crap till I am 40+. I don't get it.

I did do a lot of distructive sports. I grew up in Mammoth/Bishop Ca and skied and snowboarded everyday (pretty tough on the body when you crash). I destroyed my body skateboarding, hockey (probably the least hard on my body, suprisingly), and everything else you can think of.

I could only imagine what those dirtbiker kids, and really hard core X gamer guys will go through when they start hitting there 30s, 40, on up. I still was not nearly as bad as those X game guys on Tv. The freestyle dirt bike guys will definitely be hurting.

All the old worn out bastards at the Elks Lodge in Parker get some veterinary arthritis pills from Mexico and it works teriffic from what they tell me.
Low side effects, but not approved for human use.

They cut the tabs in 1/4's, then grind it, and then put it in their Old Crow on the rocks..

Some people that sell livestock feeds and medicines sell it under the counter to the old Jaspers.

Any of you old farts dealing with this crap as well?Have them give you a prescription for Celebrex. Take it for 4 or 5 years,
then when your heart takes a shit, you can sit around and do photochops all day :o

Dr.'s are pretty sure I had gout a year or two ago... Foot swelled slightly, and man let me tell you if you put so much as a sheet over it, it felt like somebody was running over my foot with a car or something.. That was a very miserable experience, lasted about 3 days, and mysteriuosly went away about as fast as it arrived?

Gout is a form of arthritis...that affects toes elbows and the top of feet....wrists also on occasion....

Gout means you either overproduce ...or under excrete uric acid...
The pain is intense and normal pain relievers do nothing.....

I got it first when I was in my early 30's...and had it so bad and so often that I to this day take two different pills a day to keep it from coming back....

The high levels of uric acid in the blood are caused by protein rich foods. Alcohol intake often causes acute attacks of gout.

You would think muscle builders or people on the Atkins diet would be getting too. :hmm

Got it in my spine in the facet joints, and real bad in my tailbone from an old injury where I shattered it, and starting in my fingers. The facet joint/tailbone deal coupled with the metal in my spine makes for some wonderful winter living:rolleyes:
I'll be 49 in three weeks. Certified old. The busted up cops I have coffee and go to the gym with have started a little club. The GORBS-
Grumy Old Retired Bastards:D
Get some Glucosamine/Condrotin(sp?) over the counter stuff, it seems to help. Watch the weather changes (cold sucks big time), and do look into the gout deal, it is an ass-kicker for sure.

Diet is definately a contributor ...but certainly not the only cause

When you are on the high protein diets such as Atkins you are encouraged to drink a lot of water to flush the body of the toxins from all the protein.

Holly fock , you guys are falling apart ! Wait til you reach 60 ;) that's when it all happens . I was healty all my life until my doc did a check for thyroid
functions 3 yrs ago and asked me how I feel ? I said I feel fine , why you ask ? I have hypothyroid and taking a tiny [ 80mg] pill every day now ,and even though I don't feel any different taking the pills , the doc says if i don't take it ,IT will take me down the road :smackhead. I urge you guys to test for this , especially over 40 . The thyroid controls the body's metabolism , and if it's out of wack , the organs start to fail. Friend of mine just passed away a little over two months ago when his kidneys failed during chemo .He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer [ he had hyper thyroid and had to be operated , but was too late, cause he never been tested by his family doctor ] having the cancer go to his lungs first . Millions of people have these conditions in north america unnoticed .
Don't get skeered just do some homework on the subject .:beer
