View Full Version : Brand New 10'er / Never been rigged (Vacuum Bagged)

This is a pricey little deal here, but if you have the coin you won't find a nicer hull to start with on planet earth..

Fully Vaccum Bagged, bitchen little 10'er. One person can pick this hull up and carry it and it's strong enough that you could drop it off a building and nothing would happen to it.

Call Lee for a price.

Dave, you still going to cut the bildge out of the 10 and 12 and do interior?

If this one is a lighter hull, can it handle more than the 25-35 hp motors that the older 10's and 12's could handle?

My 10'er has a tohatsu 40

Last time a spoke with Lee he said that the older Tohatsu 40 worked on the 10'ers because of their weight, other than that I don't know of any higher hp motors that are about the same wieght.

Dave, you still going to cut the bildge out of the 10 and 12 and do interior? I'm cutting the well out of them both and and making it flat non skid in that area.

I think these hulls can handle more then that. I had a 40 on mine and felt it could run quite a bit faster safely. This one is a little lighter so it oughta run a little faster with equal hp. This hull is considerably stronger then all the others.

So does it even have stringers, or does the vaccum baging make it that much stronger that a small boat like that doesn't even need them?

Some of them run a small center stringer.. Others don't have stringers at all. My old one didn't hve stringers in it, and it was SOLID.. The floor kind of acts like a big stringer when it's all glassed in.

I know Stan was looking for a golf cart or a rhino for Lake Naci. I'd bet he'd trade the hull for one.

I'll have to call down and see i guess.. that or find a decent used one. need a winter project. possibly something to put around marina del rey in style next summer. the rigid inflatable isn't cutting it

I still have this. It would make a great one for the endro, or play.
If i dont sell it or trade it off for a rino or a golf cart i'm going to put it
together for the mini endro.

From what I understand mine had a 50 on it and won the enduro back in the day. The following year they outlawed 50hp.;)

Well you can take the mold over to Brummett.. Have him lay you up a pure vinylester, cored, vacuum bagged hull and see what it costs if ya like.. :D

7500 is cheap for that hull..

;) My point wasn't about Carson, just that happened to one in his avatar so that's what I picked. :D If you took that mold to any high end shop and had them build it like that, it's going to be more then 7500 bucks.

Nice boat but you can have boat211's fully complete custom twin outboard version for only several thousand more....and who really cares about a vacumm bagging on a mini boat that won't break 50 except for someone drinking too much Schiada coolaid.....that's like billett engine covers on a 496 in a bayliner:)

Boat211's boat sold..

Old 1984 Schiada Hull.. 300.00
2K getting it stripped and holes filled and bottom thickened up a hair.
1500 - 2K getting new floor put in, well filled.. and touch ups on glass work from previous shop.
2K getting boat gelcoated..

I gotta be an idiot, because I now have about 6300 into a 1984 Schiada that's been fixed, and redone.. For another 1k I could've had a new hull that's lighter / stronger and a 2011. (year starts whatever year it's registered)

I think if you asked Boat211 what he had into his when he bought it, the #'s will come up similar on the hull..

I don't know if I've drank too much Schiada cool aid, or if it's because I've gone down this road twice now.. but it seems like a pretty good deal to me for a vacuum bagged, cored, vinylester boat. Restoring them isn't any cheaper.

Just so you know, any one that puts together and has a performance boat should care about how there
boat is put together and layed up. Hitting the water at 50 can still kill you if a boat comes apart. The last 10 i put together with a stanard hull lay up, witch was around 250 lbs heaver
ran 58 on the gps. the one before that i had running 78 on the bottle.
Now in a 10 footer that is fast.

Having owned a Schiada, I was not questioning Schiada's build techniques or comparing them to any other builder...was just making a joke of the relavance of vacumm bag in a mini boat....I guess if someone is building it go 78mph it may make a difference...you have any vid of the boat going 78?
