I have to laugh at everyone who blames Arnold over economic woes in CA. They guy has tried to instill fiscal responsibility, but the voters and legistlature have neutered him on every attempt. The state spends more than it makes; there are only two solutions, increase taxes, or reduce spending.
Until the people of this state and this nation can elect representatives that will truly mirror and impose the will of the people, things aren't going to get any better. And even then, you'd still have to wonder. How many people can't ballance their own checkbook? If those same priorities guide the actions of representatives, why would we expect a different outcome at the local and state level than we see anywhere else?
In the grand scheme of things, Arnold has very little to do with the F'd up state of affairs in CA. As bad as things are, they would have likely been worse under many other govenors.
