View Full Version : Blowers of Color...
Here is a picture of my friend Rogers boat...It went pretty fast ...but he wanted more.....and he wanted it painted.....His little engine addition that is ....
166
This little blower, just back from a refurb at the Blower Shop...needs to be silver....Everything we need is right here..
If it has good paint or powdercoating on it there will be no need to prime it ...just a good cleaning and scuffing and then we paint...We are gonna clean ,scuff, degrease, and seal it first...
167
There are places we dont want paint going. I like 2" tape and a razor blade, to make quick work of it ...
168
Everything cleaned masked and scuffed....All we need is our gloves, respirator and Binks model 115 touch up gun..
169
One full wet coat of PPG NCS 2004 Sealer....This helps with adhesion and color bleed ...and on light metallics makes color hiding easier..
170
After the sealer dries for 20-30 minutes or so I build up the silver metallic basecoat in about 3 coats .....after dry and before clear go over it with a tack rag ...
171
Two coats of clear and it is time for Roger to pay up....This job took a grand total of about 3 hours.....

Oh yeah...And in case anyone doubts the durability of automotive urethane.....this engine was painted with it......110 hours ago..!

I would post some pics in my section, but I'm only supposed to put chops in it :p
