im new to the jet boat scene. i live here in ponca city ok. not alot of jets around here everyone else has big bajas and scarabs. we are gonna be going alot of different places next summer. tenkiller is supposed to have some pretty good partys. i have a1984 taylor with a 460, berkley pump. i haved had it up to 53mph at 4000 rpm im hoping next summer to have bigger carb on it. im hoping to get about 60 out of her. the wife isnt used to the speed she likes it though. i cant get my pics to post yet

I would not touch the carb unless its broken/ not tuned. beleave it or not a 650 cfm is plenty big enough for a stock 460.
if your only getting 4k rpms, I'd 1st check sure the ign and carb is working correctly, then I would check the impeller size. you may have a AA impeller, which with a stock 460, you would only spin about 4k.

it has a little 600 edelbrock. that got rained in when the guy i got the boat from pulled it to my house in the rain with nothing over the carb. the old boy i gotit from said when it had a 750 on it it would pull 5k rpm and he had been clocked at 70 mph which i find hard to believe. that is fast.
