What do you prefer and why?
Im in the process of hunting one down but torn between the 2.
I will primarily be using it in Havasu on and off road and will most definitely have 4 seats on it.
Is the new 800efi in the Ranger that much better then the 700?
I have heard the Ranger's brake their drive belt often, is there a fix for this?
Thanks guys....

My Ranger is a 06 so far all I do is change the oil and clean the air cleaner. Not bad for 3yr. Never broke a belt. Oh I did changed the spark plugs

If your looking for a big heavy duty machine that will seat 4+ the Ranger is your thing.I don't know much about how they perform with the 800
The kawi will be alot faster (V-twin) and way more sporty/agile.
If your building a street cruiser that will see some offroad the ranger is hard to beat. If you gonna be haling ass and duning than I would get the Terxy.

I agree with most of your remarks but do not think a stock Trex is faster then a stock 800XP. Maybe with a lot of aftermarket add ons you could make the Trex faster but not by much. Some of those guys with 800's are seeing over 60 with just minor hop ups.

I love the RZR's but im trying to remain practical plus I love a crowd:champagne:.
I agree, doing some research the new rangers with the 800 seem pretty capable of keeping up with the pack.
What are some good websites for some upgrades?

if you are dead set on either the teryx or ranger, i'd have to say teryx. definately more sportier. the ranger feels like you are driving a dump truck :D i believe the teryx goes 50mph or so stock. i am pretty sure the 800 ranger will smoke that. plus the tilt wheel(definately needed it) and power steering on it is probably nice. i wouldn't even consider a new rhino but thats just me.
i'd recommend a rzr-s or at least a long travel rzr. oh and 4 seats is doable ;) (not mine btw)

lol. funny you say that cause my buddy matt in the burgh called for my rzr-s review. he was looking at getting a teryx with 4 seats and shit so he can take the wife and kids out together. i told him to not test drive the s cause he wouldn't be happy with the teryx afterwards. well he did and ended up bringing home 2 rzr-s's :D

Sweet! As cheap as used Rhino's have become, I think I'd buy an s for getting it on, and an old Rhino to transport the masses. At least that was my plan.;)

is the teryx bigger then the rhino (seating)?
Which is faster the 700EFI (rhino) or 750efi (teryx) stock?

The Teryx seems bigger all around. Kinda like they took the Rhino and made it 10 percent bigger everywhere. It's probably not, but it seems that way.
The Teryx is also faster out of the box. and mod for mod will still be faster.
The one thing I thought the Rhino did better was climb hills or over obstacles. I don't know if it's got better traction, or better weight distribution, lighter weight, or maybe it's just in my head?????

looked on the teryx website and the damn thing weighs 150 lbs. more then the ranger xp and 200 lbs. more then the rhino. Thats a crap load of extra weight for something not much bigger.

Prolly because the belt on the Rhino didn't break going up the hill :skull
I think it's gearing, stock power and weight.
If you put the Teryx into low, it'll climb easier. Or if you uncork the motor...that thing has a ton of potential by is super-restricted from the factory.

Are they expensive to (uncork)? What needs to be done to get them to haul?

I'v got a 08 ranger crew. I have gone places that mildly modified rihnos couldnt. If you want to take a crowd with you there is no other sxs out there will work near as well. Mine has the 700 twin, with 4 people and a cooler in the back I can still get into the mid 40's. the only downside is the long wheelbase, I have never gotten stuck but it does get high centered a bit. hvent broken a belt to date and just short of 2k miles on it.

x3. was the rhino broken? :D those limo rangers are probably a safer way to haul people but they can not go all places where a regular size sxs can without an experienced spotter or a winch. one of my neighbors has one.

I'd check out the Teryx forums for what works...learn from others and spend wisely.
