installing new equipment

My boat currently has a head unit and 2 speakers, I want to add 2 more speakers, a new amp, and a sub. I have never done any audio work before. What will be the basics on wiring it all up?

That's a pretty vague question for a pretty specific set of circumstances?

Some head units have outputs for Amps.. Others you have to use a converter to RCA's etc.

I think you'd probably get your answer if you put up the name / model # of the amp / head unit. The speakers are pretty self explanatory.

Take some pics of the Head unit, front and back if possible. And of the new amp. Also take some pics of the interior of your boat, so I can see what we have to work with. I kind of have a vague idea of how to lay it all out, but someone here I'm sure has done the same thing in their Schiada/Howard. One thing we will need that you dont have it an amp wiring kit. We can get that at a stereo shop/bestbuy. I was hoping community would post some build pics of his new stereo....but still waiting.

Can't wait for our River Trip after Christmas
