We had our first Jeep Excursion today at Coyote Canyon in the Anza Borrego Desert. We've got a 2000 stock, besides some decent tires Cherokee. We met up w/ your friends in Borrego Springs at 10 am this morning, and ventured to this trail that starts off really easy, then we came to this muddy creek/river that some people were stopped at to see if it was ok to go through. The first one was a Grand Cherokee w/ a big lift and big tires, no problem. Then the next was a wrangler, they had CB's so we had fun w/ the crew was still back where we were and the guys that just went through had the muddy water inside getting their feet where. But they made it and so the next one went through and then finally Sean did. I stayed back to see if it went through and take pictures... plus, yes I was chicken. Our jeep does not have any extra clearance yet so I wasn't too sure of it's capabilities. But I must say it did damn good! And so did Sean :D So then I caught a ride in my friends Land Cruiser and we cruised right through. But as you are going it's a crazy feeling just seeing bushes and water all around you... But it was really fun! So then we cruised up about 3 rock walls... well it was large rocks anyhow... it was just a rocky road and very bumpy! But fun of course :D We cruised all the way and stopped at the springs, but just kept following our own footsteps trying to get to the springs... we thought we were seeing footsteps from the group before us but they were ours instead :lamo Anyhow, now we're getting hungry and want to get a little further so kept going and then ate lunch and headed back down. It was an awesome trail and more difficult than we were expecting for our first excursion.... but no sweat! Well ok a little considering the way down we had to go downhill on the rock road and lets just say gravity and breaks??? Yeah we hit a few times... but no damage :D When we had to go back through the river I stayed in the Jeep and let me tell you it was crazy seeing the muddy water go over your hood! It was thrilling and a fun adventure to say the least. So of course after that it looks like we're going to be looking for some height to put on the Jeep. The Land Cruiser had a 3" lift and 31's and had great clearance.

So that's my story for the night... Ok my first story really. Had to share our fun and exciting day with you guys. Here's some pictures. I was the only one w/ a camera so I only got some pictures of our friends for the most part.

Great pics, I did that trail on my motorcycle a few years back. You should post up some pics of the jeep as you build it up.

I don't think we're going to really build it up, but definitely a lift, tires and shocks will be coming soon I think :D But I know it gets addicting... that's what I'm afraid of :D
