No never have , But i got a big set of nuts that on a hot day can be just as unruly and tough to handle as bringing a pumpkin down a hill.

HOLY SHIT those are some big pumpkins!! How'd they get them on the plywood? Or did the guy have the forsight to just grow them on the the boards?

Very cool neighborhood that everyone comes out and helps, and takes part. My neighborhood sucks.. :( If I did something like that everyone would complain about something, making too much noise etc..

They grow them right on the ground.
Our cat kills the gophers, and the zillions wild rabbits don't like pumpkin.

After they're cut, some of the vine is left on the pumpkin and they still suck up water from cups attached to the vines.
All kinds of tricks to get max weight.
