buddy bought this from greg (spectra81) and we are planning on cleaning it up and getting it back on the water. Heres the start pics we already stripped the clear off pulled the motor cleaned the bilge and i checked the clearences on the pump

gonna do some polishing this weekend and get the gel to pop and hopefully put the motor together so we can start it and get it back in.more pics to follow as the progress is made

not yet nut it will.i had enough leftover ferd stuff from my last 20 spectra.we brought it home this monday after are naci trip greg was nice enough to meet us at the freeway so we didnt have to drive across town and back.just tore the motor down and have to do some tweeken but it should be together and running hopefully by next weekend.saving another spectra from death:D

Looks like a great start. Now's the time to do all the hard stuff nobody ever wants to do to old boats. If that floor is just a little soft, pull it and replace it.

As for the gel, I'd talk to some folks about shooting a clear gel/prestec back over the orange. It's going to be a maintenance whore from an oxidization standpoint otherwise.

Outside of that, I think your buddy scored. Can't wait to follow another project.

thanks greg fpr the margi i mean storing the boat til the end of the weekend:thumbsup.yeah were hauling ass on this thing the gel popped nicely after we got the clear off the motor is a short block but should be back together tomorrow im all backwards again since its a ferd.were gonna bring it back up to naci when its done i will call ya so we can do some drinken:thumbsup

Got a question? If you have jump seats in this thing,next to the engine,where are your batteries mounted? I want to convert mine to this type,but my battery would be in the way....:p

batteries go under the jump seats and cables go behind the bak rest to engine:D

my buddie is stoked he didnt see the lite now we polished it up and got ir looking pertty he now sees the lite .motor goes in monday and hopefully the following weekend if parts show up in time were gonna run it:D udated pics to follow

a good friend with his twin turbo 20 vdrive is having his interior done so were gonna have the old school all white back to back bench seats with jump seats and the single seat in front of the engine cover:champagne:

well its polishing up pretty good my buffer is smoken hot but a little wet sand and elbow grease and its turning out pretty nice

motor is back in wired up fired for a few seconds and i think the msd box crapped out:grumble:gonna check it tomorrow and test it and hopefully take out mid week and run it:D

well it runs and runs pretty dang good i must say just some fuel lines to finish up and water lines and its off to the lake this weekend to test with the rickity rockity seats:D.i will get the motor install pics up soon:D:D

well she ready for sunday all new hoses wiring and misc shit timing is set ready to run off the garden hose and ready hitthe lake.was a fun build but glad its gonna come to an end.update picsto come hopefully some more buffing and tweeken and its gonna be a nice cruiser when its all said and done:D

well the build is done for now gonna re gel the wood grain part and build a custom engine hatch after the summer is over but heres the new interior and carpet on the boat. cant believe it only took three total weeks to do from when we picked it up from greg (spectra 81)

thanks but our work was no where like what you have done to yours:thumbsup this was a budget build with a good foundation to start and some old fashion elbow grease and enough left over parts to get it on the water.when winter hits then we will tear into some more and make it a stunner:D

That's pretty cool. If your buddy isn't too picky, I should have a complete set of either Rex Accucomp or Hardin/Beede(can't remember which) white gauges laying around somewhere. I'll post up pics when I find em, but if he's interested and will run em/keep em, he's welcome to em.
