I'm looking into a bare hull. Candidate for v-drive?

They have a stepped hull in the rear, but just the outside ~ 2'. The center 3' continues normally to the transom.

Price is right with a nice trailer. All I need to do is dump $100K into it. :D

I bet you can get it done for $99k. ;):thumbsup

$99k is doable if I don't have it painted 3 times. :D

No certain if they were a hand layup. If not probably want to stay away from it

I'm not jumping on the Schiada nut swingers bus but, wouldn't it better to find a boat like a Schiada or a Rayson Craft for your build?

You don't know me very well. Plus, the one I'm looking at is a blank hull...no holes to cover up...any where. But it is blank as blank can be.

I'm also looking at a Howard.

The Haskell is way less $$ than that schiada, and the Howard I'm looking at is a v-drive that is complete. Interior is roached and the motor is in similar shape to that schiada...runs, but low compression in a couple cylinders...but it is installed. And has a Turbo 400 trans.

That Haskell just seems really unique with the step. But, it also has fairly low free board and looks more like an eliminator...pointier nose. Not much v bottom in the back.

does the haskell have full length stringers?

As a kind growing up we had a 21 panther jet. It was a nice boa

The one i was looking has had 4 full length stringers.

It does not appear to be a good hull for a v-drive. Plus, I found out it used to be a jet. Havasu Barney filled in the holes and regelled the boat and bulked up the transom for an outboard.

I don't know you either but I need to put iin my two cents... I would hate to see anyone put all the time and money into a project like this and not have it be a quality (IE: Rayson Schiada etc.) boat that will have the best possible resale value when you get ready to sell it. Most people have never even heard of a Haskill other then Eddie Haskill;)

I'm sure you know how fast you can sink money into these deals. I just would hate to see ya get burned. Sorry for butting in so good luck...:thumbsup
