I am looking for a replacement light that I can use with the original mount bracket. Does any body know a manufacturer that makes one, or am I going to have to fab one? If I need to make one, can anyone tell how long the original light is?
Thanks for any input.

Perko and Atwood should both have what you're looking for. As far as height, I believe CG regs are that the light must be at least a meter higher than the green and red nav lights, with an unobstructed 360 view. Double check that, but a word of advice regardless, make sure the light is high enough that it won't be in your field of view when driving. If it is, it will kill you low light vision.

I don't think anyone is making the "original" light anymore with the threads etc?? I could be wrong on that.

Dave,

Did Stacy's boat have a twist in receptacle on the center of the dash? Cause mine looked like every other receptacle I've seen on a Spectra, and while it had a twist on cap/cover that was chained to the housing, the inside was the standard 2 prong deal. I ran a perko post in it and it worked fine.

I'd like to find an original setup as well if anyone has one layin around. I still have mine but the lenses and the top are gone. Still have the cap for the base but the chain went away on that too...

It did have exactly what you said.. but on the post it had a threaded collar that pulled the light down into it too..

In the Spectra (and other applicaltions) that light is a "mast light". There are 2 bulbs, one for the front, showing the same arc forward as the bow light(s). The aft bulb (along with the front bulb) illuminates in the "anchor" mode, to give a 360 degree light when anchored.

In this set-up the bow lights, the forward masthead light, and the stern light (mounted into the transom) are lit when the light switch is in running (or navigation) position. The mast light and the stern light make up the required "360 degree white light" required by the Rules when underway.

Put the light switch in "Anchor" mode and the bow lights and stern light are shut off and BOTH lights (forward and aft) in the mast light are illuminated for the 360 degree anchor light.

The 360 degree anchor light must be on the same mast, and can't be split like the navigation 360 degree light.

You are correct that the masthead light must be a minimum of 1 meter above the side or bow red/green lights.
