So we added another toy...actually it's the replacement for my truck :D:D
http://www.performanceboats.com/html/youBoat/data/500/jeep1.jpg
It's a 95 with 54,000 miles on it. Interior is perfect and the outside is in pretty good shape too. Runs strong but has a few leaky seals. Changed the oil today and replaced the fan clutch.
Next is a 3.5" RE lift and some 31" BFG's.....these stock 27" tires are killing me. :skull
Then some bumpers and a tow bar to put it behind the moho. Someday I'm thinking a long arm set-up, 35's and coilovers but for now I'm keeping it mild:D

Your's looks good with the lift. I like the blue better but the price was right on ours. I'll order the lift in the next week or so. Probably won't put it on until 1st week in April....we're booked every weekend until then. Carrie picked out these 16" rims and 31" BFG mud's.
http://www.4wd.com/aux_incl/images.ashx?i=series8179.jpg&jeep-parts=true&w=150&h=150 I'm not a huge fan of the black flares and wheels but Carrie usually has pretty good taste (except for men) so I'll go with it.
Everyone I talk with that has the RE 3.5" says they are getting more like 4" to 4.5" of lift until they add the bumpers. I think I'm going to have to do the SYE and driveshaft or at least the TC drop. I've got a call into RE to get more info.
I thinkI'm going with the Hanson bumpers and tire carrier.
http://www.hansonoffroad.com/imagemagic.php?img=images/JXJ1202.jpg&w=700&h=525&page=popup
I'm also looking at the rear disk conversion....my rear drums and pads are shot and I hate drum brakes so while I have it apart for the lift I might as well do it.
We'll see...all I've done so far was start soaking all the bolts with penetrating oil. I figure I'll make it a weekend ritual up until I get the lift.
Chris <-----leaving it almost stock
BTW my Jeep only has two speakers and no tape/cd player:(

Come on, we can get that thing knocked out sooner than that. That way you can bring it down to Ocotillo and break it in :D
You sure about those BFG mud terrains?;) I think they are a cool looking tire, but that doesn't make up for road noise and poor performance in sand. I don't mind the black wheels.
You will most likely see more than 3.5" out of that R.E. kit. Make sure you factor in a new adjustable front trackbar. You'll need it with that lift.
Keep hitting all those bolts will PB blaster. Make sure to also hit the upper nuts on the rear shocks. Most likely the studs will snap off when you remove them any ways :swear Happened to me, but I managed to find a good work around for it on the Jeep forums.

We'll see if I can squeeze it in earlier. Carrie's B-day is in there too so that weekend is out....I already tried the "I'm getting you a lift for YOUR Jeep for your B-day":D That went over like a fart in church:swear:swear:D
Got off the phone with RE. Got the adjustable track bar and T.C. drop just in case. They think I should be ok on vibes but if I get them I'll add the SYE and CV driveshaft. :smackhead
I had the A/T's on my 1/2 chevy and they weren't that good in the sand....the Mud's seamed to work just as well and weren't that loud. I'll try and get Toyo MT's but I'm not sure they make the size I need.
We'll see.

Since yours is a 95 hopefully you can get away with just a T-case drop, and/or rear shims under the leafs. You'll know right away if you have the dreaded drive line vibe :skull

Probably not. I'm not so sure about driving the Jeep and truck out with the current state of fuel prices. Plus I don't think I can get away with duning the Jeep in the big stuff.
I only soaked the bolts on ours for about a week, and luckily the only ones that broke were the rear upper shock studs.

Do you really want to know all the sites? Like I said in the other thread, they make more aftermarket parts than they do for Rhinos. Honestly, Save yourself some money and buy the 10/22 T. Its the target model Ruger. Like this one. (http://www.ruger-firearms.com/Firearms/FAProdView?model=1136&return=Y)It comes with a fancy laminated stock, heavy barrel, and I think some trigger work. All you would need is a scope. Turners had one there for around $470 i think. Add $100 for a decent scope and your in business. Trust me its cheaper than the route I went. Just not as fun as building it yourself.

High velocity rounds are fine. Its those crazy mini mag rounds that are finicky. I was at the range one day testing some .22 ammo. I bought a box of the mini mags to try. The damm things have a lot more pop. Accuracy sucked with my gun. But the round has such a large powder charge that it was launching the spent shells about 15 feet. They kept landing in some guys shirt at a table down from me. He was pretty pissed about that. I have had great luck with These (http://cheaperthandirt.com/49688-63803-301.html). Its a high velocity round that is clean and won't mess up your barrel. And they have been very consistent and accurate for me. Hopefully this new gun likes them.

Those are the exact rounds I shoot. They are called Power Points. Good on accuracy and double as a good round to kill things. :D

1000 rounds for $60.00 seems like a bargain compared to the .40's:D
I think this .22 thing might somehow save me alot of $$$ in the long run;):skull

Sounds like the 10/22 will fire almost any round with out issue. Two guys at work have stock 10/22's and they fire the cheap Big 5 stuff through them with no issues at all.

The stockers will shoot them fine. But accurately? Well close enough for cans at 25 yards I guess. the bad thing about those "Golden Bullet" value pack is they are dirty. The dirty up the barrel and receiver very fast. Those Power Points I have are a lot cleaner. We shot over 200 rounds out of it at the desert when we were there and the thing looks great.

So I'll think of a good spot that won't be a problem for you to get back into.
Would you guys rather camp off the S22 (Salton Sea area), or the 78? Both are off the 86. S22 is more North.

It's allot like Havasu, except there is more of a mix of hard pack and soft pack. It's allot of fun in the Rhino. It has everything from hills to climb (if you want), big wide open washes, to tight trails.

Just added a filter I had left over in the Garage and PVC adapter to the stock intake tube...also took out a small blocker plate that was on the front clip behind the headlight to let more cold air in......can't believe how small that TB is....I think that's on the list....but I really want to ditch that stupid exhaust down pipe with the factory caved in portion....has to cut the tube size in half. I figure once the lift is on I can start messing with the exhaust.
I also picked up a set of Labaron Hood vents.....trying to decide if I want to cut up the hood. A lot of guys are saying it really helped control engine temps at slow speeds. In traffic my electric aux fan kicks on and off the whole time.

Yeah the 4.0L loves to eat up during slow speed driving. Just wait until Summer hits. I ended up putting in a toggle switch and relay to control my electric fan. I've used it allot while off-roading, and a few times around town. I believe the cooling system doesn't kick on the electric fan till around 215º. Way to hot for my liking.
I also installed a Turbo City (http://turbocity.com/) hi-flow thermostat housing, and a 180º thermostat to help cool it. That definitely helped cool the motor down while moving. Didn't do allot for the slow speed stuff though.

I've done a new fan clutch and have a new thermostat ready to go. I'll probably add a new water pump too just to be safe since I'll have it drained. I saw an aftermarket water pump that designed to flow more at low RPM's that a few guys said really helped. I think so...Andrea is out of town that whole week before on business and I think her flight gets in Thursday at like 8pm so we wouldn't be able to leave until Friday morning. I should have a final answer in the next couple days.

The pins are to help you follow the trail out to the camp site. Just follow the main one pinned at the 78 & Cahuilla Trail. If you click on the pins, they will have a description.

That .40 has got to be one of the least accurate guns I have shot from 30+ yards. I was still hitting the target but if I aimed for the head it would hit in the chest...lol

UMC is the ammo. Last time I'll shoot that stuff. I had one too many jams in my 9mm.
I shot a Glock 17 after you walked down. That felt like the most accurate pistol I shot all day, and I used the last 10 UMC rounds I had left in it.

Yeah...UMC sucks. It actually didn't cycle a couple times in the .40 and that gun is known for shooting anything.
Sadly the Winchester rounds were only 2.00 more a box:mad::skull
