View Full Version : Just started Dylan's mini boat yesterday..

His mini boat has 1 main stringer down the center of it, and no floor... So the long L's will be through bolted to the stringer, and we will be mounting the battery, and a host of other stuff on the L's themselves.
Here's where at so far..
Rails are cut to length, and have been drilled (both sides matching)
And 10 stringer washers made.

Why not just add a floor? I have never liked bolting heavy objects to stringers that can't be supported on 2 sides.

There is no "lateral" weight being placed on the stringer in the installation.. The only thing that is "heavy" that will be on top of this is the seat, and it will be supported on the sides about 3/4 the way out on either end on.
Only the battery, and turn buckles (to help pull on the transom) will be secured to these rails.. and any other misc rigging that might come up (trim pump maybe)
