There's alot of evacuees around carlsbad right now. With the late nights of watching the news, smoke inhilation, and just being on stress level 10 for days on end, alot of them can barely tell you which way is up.. It's weird driving down the streets in the morning. What used to be one person in a car going to work, is now replaced with the entire family + dog(s) crammed into a car going to breakfast or? Kinda weird to see so many people just completely diorientated, and not knowing what the next move is...

In Carlsbad it's pretty much back to business as usual, the sky is blue with smoke down south, and a little to the north. The office buildings are full with people again in our complex, and the toyhaulers / travel trailers were all coming back into the neighborhoods last night. I think things are finally getting back under control as far as the coastal fires are concerned.

I hope everyone is ok, and I hope the people that did have to Evac come home to find there houses intact. The news down here is putting up some pretty large #'s for damaged and total losses of structures so I know that won't be the case for everyone.

A few friends of mine got evacuated to carlsbad also. With the cats too I think. She is hoping to get back home soon.

What a mess down there.

Just went to MIckey D's for a big mac.. The line of cars for the drive through is always long, but today it's outta hand.. You guessed it, every car is loaded to the gills with personal items, sleeping bags, etc..

Their is ash on the ground, and all the cars driving on it is making it brutal.. IMO more brutal then a day or two ago. I haven't coughed this much since this whole mess started. :(

I was at SDSU in '03 during the Cedar Fires, I only had classes Tuesdays & Thursdays, so I ended up having an 11 day weekend instead of my usual 4

So I know what he's going through!

I would believe that. The whole "vibe" down here is kinda weird right now.

The smoke is back today in full effect (carlsbad). Well let me rephrase that. The sky is grey again today, and a little "haze" seems to be in the air. Not much ash falling today, but the fire odor is enough to make your eyes water, and your nostrils burn (literally).

Still smokey here.
You can wash the car with a leaf blower.
