Problem appears to be an anchor point for where the sheer walls meet on the new floor. It's missing.

Keep in mind the city will make mistakes to. Some inspectors just make things worse.

This is what I just dont understand...

Apparently the inspector caught this. My GC said he noticed it when he first looked at the plans, and mentioned it to the arcitect. (this was a couple of months ago).

Also, as you mentioned, the city inspected and APPROVED all the plans! Shouldnt they have caught this then??? Not to mention the arcitects enginer, who now has to sign off on the new footing that needs to be set?!?

So now peeps are gonna have to come back to get this footing put where it belongs, and the arcitect and engineer have to make sure its where it belongs.

AND I GOTTA PAY FOR ALL THIS?????

As far as im concerned, that aint gonna happen. Who should be responsible here?

:headscratch:

Someone preferably cool headed needs to talk to the plan check dept and come up with the least expensive solution. Preferably the guy that drew them up. He is kind of on the hook here. Be nice...is the key as they are holding the lock.

Usually there is a stamp on the plans that gives them the right to amend as required. Your GC can tell you that and typically you pay for it.

Now you know why I do repair. LOL.

My GC is as cool as they get, and he gets along well with the inspector on this job! They are all Glendora locals.

I'm jus keepin my mouth shut so far to see how this all plays out....

I'm havin the architect do some more drawings for me right now for the patio cover in the rear we are adding. I may have some levearge over him there! hehe

I figured it was mainly the arcitects fault, but wtf is plan check for if they dont catch shit like this??? are they just checking to see how many permits that they can charge us for and thats it??
