I cut and welded up this little box out of aluminum to hide some of the stereo equipment for the satellite radio unit in the SR22, It got dropped off to the polisher today, i'll post more pictures when it comes back and when i install the punched stainless screen in the cut outs. I didn't think about taking pictures until i had the box completed and all the welds polished off :smackhead

It's had a nice system in it since we put the rear seat and hatch in, all jl audio speakers/subs/amps 6 mids and 2 10" subs. the box is there to hide these little boxes for the Sirius radio.

That's pretty much what I want to throw in mine when the stereo gets upgraded. I hardly ever even listen to the radio anymore - iPod in the glove box and you're good to go...

That alpine head unit is pretty bitchin, it has a standard usb plug, you can even plug in one of those USB memory sticks loaded full of mp3's and it will play off it too. I believe it also works with most open format mp3 players as well, if they made one to work with the new Zune i'd be really excited. The iPods have a tendency to lock up for no reason, and the only way to get the thing to unlock is to wait untill the battery dies.

I just hold the click wheel and the Menu button at the same time and it resets...

Here ya go, I'm not going to show you what it looks like with 12 feet of data cable wrapped up inside there to connect these boxes to the head unit and to each other, i'll let you imagine, it disgusts me, that's why i built the box in the first place, i wish i could make my own cables. :D

There is quite a bit of stereo equipment in there, It's all JL Audio marine series Subs, Mids, and Amps (a 2 channel for the 10's and a 6 channel for mids) I've always like JL audio stuff, but i'm not sure i'm really impressed with the quality of the marine line, in about 6 or 7 trips of boating the 6 channel amp lost 2 of its channels and 2 of the mids blew, and i had the system tune way mild so that no one could accidently turn it all the way up and blow stuff.
I got all the JL equipment from a guy that is a dealer here on the boards (He was actually on HB at the time) he treated me really right on the price, and replaced the faulty equipment for me no charge, i would definitely buy from him again, just maybe not the JL stuff the next time. Hopefully it was just a fluke and all the stuff will work right this time.
So far i think the best combination are the Alpine V12 amps with MB-quart speakers, every system i've heard with that setup sounds great, and those Alpine amps last, i've had one in my truck for 6 or 7 years now.

Hopefully sometime next week, is that what it made on pump gas   i didnt even ask him, he said it made a little over 1400 on 100LL, and there is 100 more hp to be made by going to a 115octane race fuel map.
He did say that the HP was still steadily climbing at 6000rpm but he didnt pull it past there, he figured at that point who the hell cares :D

Building the transmision shift linkage today, don't get your panties in a knot :D
The ECU had to go back to EFI Technologies because it wasn't communicating with the dash properly, Carson got the ECU and the Dash back yesterday and the god damn screen got broken in shipping, so now it's back at EFI again to be fixed :swear

And what is wrong with taking "progress" pictures? Come on do I have to do your thinking for you? :point
I knew about the ECU...you think the guys in shipping would really package that thing so it woldn't break.

I don't know what's up with EFI Technologies but between this boat and one of Herbst's sand cars that we have next door they are begining to press my patience. It's absolutely beautiful hardware, but there is ALOT to be desired in regards to the software usability end of their stuff.
