As some of you know we purchased L&L Marine's inventory of Rub Rail a couple years ago. We stock a wide range of Rub Rail, Molding, Trim, and Insert. Aluminum, some in colors, Stainless Ovals and Overlays, Rigid and Flexible Vinyl, and Vinyl (many times called rubber) Insert.

Special Orders are common with Rub Rail as there are literally dozens of shapes and sizes. If you don't see what you want online please call us.
Please call us on shipping and we will search out the best deal depending on your location. Because Rub Rail comes in 12-20 foot lengths, most the time UPS is not an option. We have searched out some good deals though on freight in certain areas. Some areas of the country are just going to be expensive to ship to though (via truck line) with the long tubes required. We ship all the long Rub Rail and Molding in heavy PVC pipe tubes which we cut and glue to the appropriate length for the shipment. This prevents damage to the product. In most cases it is not any more expensive to ship multiple lengths per tube as opposed to a few. Most the time it is the size that determines the freight charge, rather than the weight. The stuff is not that heavy for a few lengths.

I need to order some new vinyl insert for mine. Hey Mike what would it cost for the vinyl for a 22 schiada? Guess I should get out the tape and measure it probably.

Yes you will need to measure. Here is the link to the insert. (http://shopping.rexmar.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=rubrail-insert) There is one larger size that I still need to add to this webpage (so it is not on there yet).

Mike, I need to get some 6 inch samples of aluminum / rubber insert style, and of some different sized stainless rub rails, to determine what's gonna work on the mini's.. A small stainless will look bitchen, but I'm not sure how it's going to work with the shoebox mold construction (small step).

Mike,
Is that vinyl rub rail "B1"? I've been looking for that stuff for a few years.
I really like the white B1 (I think it's 1" height?) with 6" screw positions.
If that's the stuff, what lengths does it come in? I need to figure out how to get it back to Canada.

Thanks for the PM, Mike. I forgot something in my response.
Can it be rolled up into a reasonable size? Say a 5' diameter coil? Is there any way it could fit into the back of a pickup truck?

If I purchase rub rail for a 18' tahiti is it possible to be picked up? I'm just down the road in long beach.

Dave is correct, pick ups are no problem. Just make sure to call and confirm what you need is in stock before driving out. Rub rail is moving in and out all the time so there are periods of days to a couple weeks when we run out of certain sizes and are waiting for more incoming.
The market now is completely different than when acquired from L&L, many of the builders are just flat gone or not building boats. So we can no longer estimate what is needed from historical L&L sales data.
