So, I bought a boat off eBay for a whopping $62. No, not a typo. $62 for the boat, motor, and trailer. It has been sitting around until now (my spring break). Here's a few before pics...

Those pictures are directly from the eBay add. I picked up the boat about a month and a half ago. Today, I finally got around to cleaning the exterior:

I wish I had a before picture of the bow, cause that thing was freaking NASTY. The before pics don't do justice as to how dirty the boat was before...

The plan for Monday is to start cleaning the interior, new vinyl on the seats, then rewiring the motor. :beer

Umm... Get drunk and bid on shit. :beer

Finished rewiring the motor today. Went to try and start it using some leftover year old gas from the Tahiti. It would sputter, then die. Gonna try again tomorrow with some fresh gas.

That thing cleaned up real nice. How long did it take you to do the job?

Are you going to sell it after you redo the interior and get the engine running?

Took maybe 2 hours using Simple Green and scrub brushes. Made a new discovery today...

It floats! Haha... Still don't have it running just yet. Thinking there is an electrical gremlin that is causing it not to fire all the time... We'll see. And yeah, I'm going to fix it up (cheaply) then sell it. Seats just need new vinyl really. Both of the small rear jump seats need the box frames rebuilt, but that'll only take a few mins to fix.

Fuckin A parts are expensive for this motor. Found out its not getting spark the whole time. Figured a new rotor bug, points, and distributor cap would cost maybe $30. Friggin cap alone retails for $120. I can get it for $60 through a friend... :swear

So, today I went down to do some work on the boat. Threw out the two jump seats in back, they were rotted and I didn't like em anyways. Changed out my Costco battery with a cheapo Walmart battery cause I wanted my good Costco battery back for my Tahiti. Decided I might as well try and start it... Wouldn't ya know it, the son of a bitch started right up and idled away. Ran like a champ. So, of course I took it out on the lake for a few mins. Sorry, no pics of that. The boat is having a fuel delivery issue. I'm hoping a new fuel line/bulb will fix that problem. Here's a short clip of the motor running. Sorry about the film quality, it was filmed by a 10 year old (seriously).

Thanks booby. Had the boat out on the lake today. Think it needs a fuel line or that there is a blockage somewhere in the fuel line. The bulb keeps going flat when you run it and then it starves itself of fuel.

$1000 caaaaaaaaash :D I posted that awhile ago but I guess it got deleted during the phuck up. Listed the boat on Craigslist on Friday afternoon for $1200. They called @ 7 and said they were coming to look at it. Fired it up and they said sold! :beer Also lost were the pictures I posted of the boat when it was finished... Here's the pics I posted in the Craigslist add:

haha... Thanks. I'm keeping my eyes open now, although I doubt I'll ever find something as good as a steal as that boat was. :beer :D
