Tooling for Pool cues..

Well my friend Kent started making pool cues years back and he's been the real up and comer on the scene lately. His cues are going for cubic dollars now dayz for the high end stuff. He had some pretty shitty "tooling" for making cues, so he asked me if I could help him out by machining him up some stuff. No problemo!

Basically my buddy Pat made a top plate for me CNC (qty 2) and then I made base plates to match so that one will rotate on the other to different points and then lock down. From there you can rotate the cue and cut points veneers, inlays or whatever else your doing at the time.

Most people don't know this, but actually yes!

When people get further along into the game, you begin to find certain things in cues that you like, and you can have a cue taylor made to those specs..

Everything from shaft diameter, to different taper style, how far back until the taper starts to "break" (get bigger), Different "pins" have a different "hit" or feel, balance points (big thing), but diameters, total length of cue (another big thing) etc.. etc..

To be honest I'm not super "particular" about most of those things, but some people get kinda crazy about them..

I'd be happy to play half as good as RD. I suck. But it's a fun game. I should practice but I'm exhausted by the time the little ones go to bed.
