Some pictures of the detent housing for the shift handle, notice detents for Park, Reverse, and Neutral, shifting between 1st 2nd and 3rd gears requires no shift detent button depression. After i had marked and measured the shifting positons i laid the part out in CAD, i also tightened the slop up from the stock shifter so everything is nice and on the money.

Pictures:
1. CAD Layout
2. Layout Cleaned and setup for cutting
3. Sample Part cut from some black nylon to test fit
4. Rough Cut of the final part
5. Radius all exposed edges
6. Blind Tapped Holes
7-8. Finished Polished Product

Some Pictures of the stereo installation. And the underside of the all gloss varnished birch seat base/speaker box. (which is a shame you can't see when the boat is assembled )

Also the EFI Dashboard, The Blue LED on the Left is the Electric Fuel Pump indicator (The engine only uses the electric pump for starting, after the engine is running the cam driven pump takes over and the Electric pump can be shut off) The Light on the right is the 'Oh Shit' light for the computer, this is the one you don't want to ever see :D. The Blue LED's work great in direct sunlight, they are very bright and hard to miss.

Currently the EFI Dash is setup to display

(Upper Row Left to Right)
Oil Pressure - Tach - Water Temp

Lower Row Left to Right)
Fuel Pressure - Boost - Battery Voltage

The Dash can be configured to display any telemetry the ECU processes, from Throttle Position, to injector duty cycle, also you can hook up G sensors and have g-forces displayed even. Pretty Neat stuff. You can also program up to 3 pages that you can switch between with the push of a button to show any sets of gauges you want.

That thing has to cost about $250K by now...;) Sweet work. Did you build the shade for the dash?

Is it hard to see the EFI display in the sun? What kind of display technology is it?

The dash works pretty well even in direct sunlight, i built the shade, which also has an LED array in it that lights the dash at night (This was before EFI started making the new dashes with indiglow backlighting it's $2,000 to upgrade your standard dash to the glowing one )

We just got back from some prop testing, the boat runs 70mph at 3600rpm , steve had it right to 100 and said he was maybe running 4500rpm, definitely under 5000rpm, there were a bunch of bozos on jet skis and wakeboard boats so he didn't have any oportunity to really push the thing.

I have about 15 minutes of video that i took, i'll edit through it tonight and get it posted.

We just got back from running the boat with the prop cut down, Carson came up to do some fine tuning on the air fuel ratios, We still need to cut a bit more off the prop but it runs 110mph @ 5400, steve didn't hold it there for long enough to see if it would build more speed over time, he wasn't all the way mashed into the throttle since carson was on the laptop, we still are trying to reach 6000 & 120. I don't think it will be much of a problem for the boat, at 110 it's riding steady as can be, who knows what the next 10mph holds in store.

Well that explains why I saw Carson at Dunsmore's today.

How is the amp rack attached to the inside of the boat?

Racey
04-06-2008, 07:43 PM
Glassed in some peices with stainless t-nuts in them, then i bolt aluminum peices to that, and the amps bolt into the aluminum, this way i'm not married to those amps if anything happens down the road, i can just make new aluminum brackets for whatever amps i want.

BadAxe, i forgot you're in boulder, we've probably rubbed shoulders before and not even known it. We will be doing some more testing after we get the prop trimmed again.

I just bought a canon digital video camera off ebay, it's waiting at the post office for me to pickup tomorrow morning

I thought about disassembling them and flipping the covers but they are hidden from sight anyway once the observers seat goes in, so i nixed that deal.

I also got my camera from ebay today, recorded a couple discs worth of video on it to make sure the guy didn't fock me :D. it's all good, i stole the thing (or maybe the seller did ;)) i paid $272 (including delivery) for the camera, car charger, external battery charger, 3 batteries, 30 dvd-r discs, a Vivitar wide angle and telephoto lense, remote, and the normal plug in power cord and usb cable. I priced the camera alone on a bunch of websites, almost everyone was $799 for the camera by itself.:thumbsup

I read yesterday that the snow is supposed to bring Powell up 50' but couldn't find what they expect Mead to do.

I'd say the lake dropped 5 feet between when we tested that day, and the week before when i took all the videos. The trailer was off the end of the ramp to launch, the prop gaurd was burried in the mud. The fockin lake better come up somewhat for the sake of the ramps and crowds/idiots over the summer. But personally the lake isnt so bad down, there are so many more bitchin beaches than when the lake is full.

BTW whos idea was it to put 150K + boat on a $2,500 trailer?

I never hid under the dock. I literally put on a t shirt, hat and flip flops and walked off the boat right past at least six cops down the dock and into Heffel's truck and into Vegas for a nice filet.

It's the Viva! Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend & Rat Rod show at the Gold Coast, that's were i'll be! It get's pretty wild down there. Tons of bitchin old rods. Todd and Ralph came up last year, there was a full blown 40 person brawl, at any given point in time during it there were no less than 20 beer bottles flying through the air, coming inches from hitting cars, guys doing rev-offs at 1am till their motors blow, burnouts, 6 foot flame thrower exhausts. It's cool as hell, i'll get a bunch of pictures and videos.
