22 Ft Schiada Fuel Tanks ????

Can someone give me some good dimenions? Maybe a couple good pictures. I have tried to find a used set of tanks but have given up. I have a friend with a fab shop who will build me a new set. Thanks Dan

They are an akward shape because the outside of the tank (side against the boat) has twist and draft, the best way to build them is the figure out the profile and mounting position for the front and rear ("bulkheads") of the tank, and use string lines to check for clearance against the side of the boat. Keep the 4 corners of the inside surface (cockpit surface) of the tanks completely planar to each other. and build off that reference.

when you start adding up how much work is in building them because of their shape the price that a set of IMCOs cost starts looking better and better, lots of forming, lots of material, and lots of welding involved.

If I had unlimited funds Id ordered a set long ago. This boat has sat stored away far to long because of some simple things that need fixing. Its going SWIMMING this year....:champagne:

I had custom tanks made for my boat. I made templates out of cardboard(styrofoam works too) to get the right shape so they fit under there nice and perfect.
