like you find in the mexican meat market anyone know a recipe for that type of chicken. i heard they use sunny delight? its not to expensive but it would be considerably less if you just bought the chicken and did the marinade yourself since your paying for half chicken half marinade

I made my own Carne and Pollo this last weekend and it turned out great.. I used, 1/4C Soy, 1/4C vinegar, 2 Lemons juiced, 1/3C Orange Juice, 1/4 Olive Oil, Teaspoon of salt, coarse black pepper, ancho New Mexico Chile, White Pepper, Garlic Powder, New Mexico Chile Powder, Ground Cumin and Paprika, 3 cloves of Garlic (I love Garlic) with about 2lbs of Chicken thigh and quarters meat (I believe).. Turned out really good.

Followed this recipe last night for a beer can chicken. Made a slight change, first I doubled everything so I could marinate the whole chicken a little better, and I added another half cup of OJ, and I cut down the garlic. I like garlic, just thought it might be a little much. Also, I after squeezing the lemons, I sliced them and added them to the marinade.
Let it sit in a large zip lock in the fridge for a few hours, then on the the grill.
I brushed the chicken a few times while it grilled on med heat for an hour and half. It was really good! Will definetly keep this recipe around, gonna try it on some beef for carne asada, also got a couple ideas to add to it, I'll guinea pig my self first, if it works I let you know.

Sunny D gives it more of a tang like the meats from the carnecerias. Use with Lawry's, maybe a lil garlic powder, pepper. You can add a lil onions or cilantro if you like. The same as marinating carne asada. Marinate it the day before you bbq it. The longer the better.
