No expert here, but you may need to look into getting a trailer.

Well, I knew the TRUCK could handle the 2400lbs of Hardy Board in the bed... Didn't think about the tailgate. I do have a trailer I can borrow anytime, next time I'm getting it. :D

That Sucks!! Did it happen as you were driving or did it flex right away when it was loaded? How long were the panels of siding?

It happened while I was driving... Ride home was probably 30 miles. Each piece of Hardy Board is 8" by 12' long. Heavy stuff.

Figured out part of my issues tonight while taking parts off the tailgate... has a big CHIANWAY stamp on it underneath the cover. Made in China. :cool:

That sucks.
That's a lot of weight bouncing on the tailgate. Bet it rode like a Caddy though.
