Anybody ever brine potatoes before frying them? I have been hearing about it and tried it yesterday..........I got it all wrong, way too salty (and I like salt). I've read that if done properly fries come out really crispy.

I dont brine but I do soak them in ice water to get some of the starch out of the especially when doing hashbrowns.

Try sugar water, then salt the shit outta them right out of the fryer!:skull
I know brine works great for fried chicken,,,, I'll try the potato brine trick too.
Sounds like a great idea.
