One of my buddy's invited me out to take a look at some of his projects. this stuff is off the hook by all accounts. I shot a lot of photos and lets just say the photos dont really do the house much justice. This is the stratosphere of high end construction and design. I have alot of photos so hang in there with me while I try to put this together for your enjoyment. if you have any questions feel free to ask and if you want one of these built or see something you would like done to your house these are all representations of services that I can provide, granted this type of work is not affordable by any means. now lets get to it. the first photo is the entry way with the guest house on the left and the main house on the right. all of the shots in this post are of the guest house. The pocket door walls are used throughout the house so if you see them further down you will know that it is not a repeat of the same area. this house is about 7500 sq ft.

moving on with our tour, the first shot is the bottom track for the glass pocket walls. this is all still the guest house. the smaller glass door is on the guest house and the larger one is on the main house. we will now be going into the main house across the court yard and through the big ass glass door.

WOW! I would love to stay in that guest house!! You don't realize how massive the doors are until you see the girl standing in them, very nice! Keep the pics coming, I can look at homes all night...:thumbsup

entering the main house, lets just say it does not feel cramped at all. the house will be turned over to the owners next week so there is still some details and lots of cleaning going on. the main fire place is just massive and will have a big ass plasma over it. next to the fire place is a sunken bar and a glass pocket wall that opens up to the fairway and pool area. the drawer that you are looking at is refrigerated and looks like the cabinets.

yes it is.

So who made those doors? I've got a project coming up that needs something very simlar

a company out of colorado "something 5", the name slips my mind but if you need it I can find out. the one in the main house is automated. they send there techs to do the installation. all the doors for this place cost a couple hundred grand:eek:

Just need a some glass walls and swinging glass doors. Do you know if they meet the ADA reqs?

whiteworks

more pics of the kitchen, then a shot of the pantry. the BBQ island has a pizza oven in it:thumbsup notice the vent for the air conditioning is faux finished to match the stone on the floor. the key pad on the wall does like 8 different thing (smart house). then we have a wine fridge in the dining room.

I am sure they do. they have used these in quite a few of the houses they build, my buddy told me on a scale of 1 to 10 he would give them a 6 as far as functioning flawlessly. they have to send the techs out once in a while to service them. you might want to look at Pella they are high end but nothing like these.

I inspected a house a couple of years ago up towards the hills. It was below and to the right of the 36,000 sq ft house on the hill

How thick is that kitchen granite? I'm not sure I've seen it that thick before or is it just the edges?

all of the cabinets are equipped with dampeners so they don't slam shut the drawers throughout the house are all self closing. another guest bath and the laundry room. personally I would have done at least 2 washers and 2 dryers. that way you can do colors and white loads at the same time. then we have some shots of the 4 car garage and outside.

east or west side

I didn't crawl under it to see if the edges were built up, but I have worked with 1 1/2" slabs before. this appears to be 1 1/2" thick slab from the photos you can not see any seems on the edge and the pattern of the stone seems to be continuous

This is the media room (not complete yet) and some faux finished soffit thingy that looks kind of funky IMO. there are alot of curved walls and stuff going on. personally I think the base could have been better, I gave it a 95%. Another guest bed and bath.

[quote=whiteworks;84145]east or west side

I think it was the east. the east side of monterey, thru the service gate, went to the right and followed the road til it ended, made a left and followed it almost to the end and made a right. The house overlooked the whole valley from the back yard

It's a beautiful house, but not really my tastes.....I would pass on it...he does good work though...that piece of granite in the kitchen is by far the largest singe slab of granite I have ever seen used in a house...musta been a bitch to get it in....:hmm

I think this looks like shit... look at all the waves in it. They really, really need to top coat that with a clear to get rid of those...

I only bring it up becuase you mentioned the other one.

Then again, I'm not signing the check nor is my name on it... so its all good.

your preachin to the choir on this one. some of the faux finish is nice and some of it needs some help. once the owners get in they usually mess around with that kind of shit and get it just how they want it.

That looks to be like 3" granite (in the kitchen) not 1 1/2" but it sure looks nice!!

faux work is by far the hardest thing I know of to get right... There is a reason why the guys that are really good at it charge $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and you will have to wait months( if not years). Its a real art.

this is the master bed. the fire place and mantle are bad ass, and the slabs going to the ceiling are book matched. the stone work here was off the hook. a view out the master with a creek running by (sounded bitchin). then we have the hall to the master bathrooms and closets his and hers. the ceiling was really cool in the hall but the picture is not flattering at all. there is a washer and dryer behind these doors in the hall

I am kind of multi tasking putting this together and commenting at the same time, sorry if that didnt make sence. if it was 1 1/2" slab and they stacked the edge it would be 3" or they may have mitered the edge, or shit maybe the slab is 3" thick i have never worked with a 3" thick slab but on this place anything is possible.

There are 2 master baths and master closets, his and hers. this is hers with the big ass tub and really big closet. the bracket in the closet is so you don't have to reach for your clothes you just lower them down, looks good in practice but in practical application if she loads this SOB up like my wife that thing could kill you coming down. :D maybe they are spring loaded or have a dampener of some sort. I didn't mess with them so I dont know.

I bet they spent more on those 2 master baths then we make a year.

This is the detatchable remote control for the toilet, thats right a remote control. as you approach the toilet it has a sensor and the seat raises. it has all kinds of bells and whistles a washer/dryer/heated seat it is made by TOTO if your interested. master shower with double heads

this is the outside of the house backing up to the fairway there in an infinity edge pool and a party size spa. the last pic is the outside of the living room looking in, that whole glass wall goes back in the wall both directions and is fully automated.

this is another one they have going right now its 11000 sq. ft. and should be done in about a year. the framers are bad ass, at one point they had 57 framers on this one at the same time. that just blows my mind. amazing what can happen if you have the right clientele

You can't end the thread, I want more!! I hope you plan to post pics when the 2nd home is finished. That roofline is sick!! I can't imagine how long that took!! I photograph homes here in Dallas for several of the r/e agents, it's pretty boring but easy money. I'd love to photograph homes like that!!:thumbsup
