That was quick, beat me to the punch! Congrats.
What ever happened to the little twin outboard Mini that was For Sale?
What is the story from Schiada on these? What years did they make them? How many are out there?

They made a shitload of them in the 80's.. but most of them are still sitting ???? Fields, junkyards, garages, etc? From what I understand Schiada didn't actually lay most of them up. I think Laveycraft did them back in the day.
They come up for sale about once every 2 -3 months. For a runinng one figure 2500 - 3500.. Really nice one 4000'ish..
For junkers anywhere from 500 bucks and up.
This one is definately a project. Apparently is sat on the back of some hippy's yacht as a "tender." They had it painted in that salt water "marine" thick ass paint.. Not just the sides and top, but the whole freakin boat.. So needless to say I have to strip all that off, to get it down to the original gel to see what kind of shape the hull is in. After that it'll be heading back to Schiada to get regelled to match my pop's 21.
Sorry I don't have any pics.. Stacy and I can't find the f'n camera anywhere?

The camera's right next to all them Corona bottles...:D
I was thinking about the mini Schiada...What about a small v-6 V drive? Add some little down plates...baddass!

I don't think you realize how small these boats actually are.. LOL
I wanted to put a 4 stroke V-twin in the back with an arneson style drive on one.. but I don't know if there's even enough room for the motor?

How much room from the back of the seat to the transom? Two feet? Less?

I'd have to measure it, but maybe 18 inches?

What about a version of this

but coupled to a small outboard lower instead of the I/O pictured? :hmm

I'd have to do some research to find a power plant that I would feel would really work in this boat..
My main concern is, by the time I get done building it.. It'd be 2 fast / dangerous? Or possibly not work for shit.. Either of those and your out alot of coin..
that's why I stuck with the outboard program on my old one..

How big can you go with an OB? 40hp? I'm sure someone over the years has hung some big power off the back..... time for another call to Lee;)

You're right, I have no idea.
18"...Maybe an V-4 air cooled...with a 4 into 1 exhaust over the transom...just trying to keep the junk off the back.
I was also thinking that while it's stripped down reinforcing the floor wouldn't be too bad. I'd still beef the transom if I was gonna put a outboard on it...with a spacer and jackplate.

I'm sure someone has hung a 50hp on the back for a shit your pants fast kinda ride. But I believe that a 40hp is about as big as you would want to go.
