The new helmet.... just begging for some color

http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/9072/03bm4.jpg

After disassembly, the helmet was sanded with 400 grit. It then received
a coat of sealer, four coats of silver metallic base, six coats of candy orange
and three coats of clear

Next it was wet sanded with 600 grit and masked for the flames

Bright red is sprayed for the pinstripe that outlines the flames

The pins are masked off and ready for some black

Masked and ready for the next color

http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/1756/033ako2.jpg

The front half received a candy red fade, the back.. a little shadowing
then the masking tape came off and four coats of clear went on

After seeing it outside in the sun, I decided to redo the flames with black pearl
So after sanding with 600 grit, the flames are masked off....AGAIN :smackhead

Looks bitchin. What brand candies and clear are you using??Thank you!

I've always used House of Kolor candies, but recently have been using
BASF/RM candies from their Diamont line - and I must say I'm impressed.
Plus it's more compatible with the system I use than HOK

The clear is Glasurit, the best shit there is IMHO
It's the only clear I have used for god knows how long, and it has yet to disappoint me for any reason
(also mucho spendy)
