I'm in the wrong state, but I'd choose the ocean over Elsinore any time. I think there's a few SCOPE guys heading to Avalon this weekend - Check out the scope site to get the details www.scopeinfo.com

I would prefeer boating in the ocean as well, but I think it's more fun boating with more people than boating by yourself.

I hear ya... It looks like a couple of boats on the SCOPE site are trying to run over to Avalon on sat - You would be more than welcome to join them I'm sure - The more the merrier. On the other hand, a day boating to Avalon is completely different from a day hanging out on the lake. :beer

Also, keep an eye on the scope for future planned and impromptu runs. There's usually a boat or two heading out from Newport or Huntington just about every weekend.
