You should know it'll never die, lol. It doesn't bother me though, honestly. I've had & worked on Fords, Chevys, Chryslers, all in no particular order. They all have their idiosyncrasies(sp?).....
Usually the ones doing the most talking, are the ones that are trying to make up for a deficiency though.... ;) :D

Car and Truck wise, I have only ever owned imports untill I bought my 2001 Chevy Silverado. And I love it. My first boat had a 460 Ford in it. And it was a piece of...
My second boat had a 454 stock, that ran 60 all day, and was turn key. My third boat has a 468 and runs hard for what I paid for it. I have no problems with it ever.
So I will have to stand behind Chevy. With no shit talking involved.
The only good motor ford ever had is a powerstroke so put that in your boat. Chevy all the way

Like I said, I have driven all of them. I'm not particularly brand loyal to anything. The majority of my different vehicles over the years have been Chevys & Fords. One thing I have found is that they both can & will screw up at some point. Not a question of if, but when.... I don't trust anything 100%, unless I'm the one that put it together, no matter what it is.

I don't care for diesels much. If I were to buy one, I'd probably go with a Cummins. Far as my boat goes, I'll stick with what I got thanks.... ;)

Oh, did I mention it's a open bow 8 passenger "ski boat" and it idles at 900-1,000 rpm's w/ a lope.

Sleeper, Most everyone will look at the HP but miss the torque....I like those tq. figures. 700+ lbs 4800 to 7K rpm. That curve is almost as flat as a tabletop. The BSFC looks good too.

Yeah it pulls like a freight train to 6,200 off the bottle. The BSFC's are the best I have ever seen on over 40 different engine dyno sheet's that I have had my hand's on plus all the magazine dyno sheet's I have seen. It has a lot to do with the 68 cc chamber and re-shaping of it to make it a fast burn high swirl design and the 11.8:1 compression. Credit to Geoff Mummert of Mummert Machine and Development for all his work. It does'nt hurt that these old school A-460 heads have a 2.4" Ti intake and flow 450 CFM's.
The BSFC avg. of .366 means this engine uses less fuel to produce 935 HP than it did when it produced 856 HP at a BSFC of .48. Nearly 80 more HP and it would use 17 gallons less fuel per hour doing it. Gotta love that :D
