I'm a little concerned about the new pole actually... Little increases in height, add substantial leverage to the setup. We're only really holding onto that grab rail so I hope everything works out.. (I haven't seen the new pole, or even seen the setup in over a year now?

I'm sure Jay will test it out thoroughly though before the race.

Saw the stickers! They look bitchen! I wish I had som more RDP stickers I'd send them up to him for some potential exposure.

jay was assembling it last night and he yanked on it pretty good with all his weight and it didnt budge much. the skier is about 160lbs.....he was toying with the idea of putting a ratchet strap on it for extra security. They went out testing early this morning.

Dont worry, I didnt even get a chance to sneek on a JSM sticker on it either ;)

We blisterred a start this morning just to make sure Suprised Grant held on all the way to 95+. It will hold as I'm sure we won't be able to start that hard Saturday... THANKS AGAIN everyone!!!!

Dave I really wouldn't worry...there isn't as much drag on that pole aas you think. The way they start wrapped up they get the ski almost flat in the water and stand up almost instantly. Ours didnt have half the beef or support that yours does and we never had a problem. Grant (Jay's skier) and Todd are about the same weight.

So I noticed that after last years race, we never heard anything from all the nay sayers that predicted the failure of the pole, Thats not surprising!!

How much higher is it this year, I remember last I did some stress calc's, and figured that pole would hod up to a 500 lb skier, based on some guess' on the friction of the ski.

Beside that it looked sexy!!!

1 foot and 2"... worked better and didn't wear out grant so much... This is the way Dave and I had first planned on doing this project but with the possiblity of it not working we played it safe last year... This year it was decided that last year was too low to make progress so we went with it... And it was perfect height and stayed together... Thanks Again R.D.!!!!
