View Full Version : Parker Family Emerald Cove Trip Report:
This seasons FUBAR came late:
Jazzed the front RV jacks backing in.
No bfd though, our 8 year old JackMan Maynard likes the new style jacks anyway.
Got to hang with the Boatnams and the Bordsmnjms for a spell. Nothing like good friends on vacation.
Jas was all smiles, the Stoker dialed in.
We took every kid that wanted to go parasailing for a flite. Only one shy first-time-to-the-river girl stayed on the beach.
Some minor rule changes:
The kids under 16 driving golf carts with an adult on the front seat rule has been re-written.
Ya gotta be 16 to drive it in the BLM concession park we're now told.
The BLM Rangers seem to be the only LEOS concerned with that.
The CHP and SB Sheriffs just want golf carts off Rice rd and no open containers.
Ya drive to the right/outside of the berm when heading along Rice rd. and they are cool with you.
Lites at nite a BFD with all the LEOS.
It's OK to cross Rice RD to get to the pathway on the other side. Kids get snakebit and unattentive, and letting them drive across can get hairy.
I take the wheel at that point.
The DUI enforcement along Rice RD is stepped up.
Don't have a drink in you even if you're going over to storage to pick something up.
Jack-ass flats golf course is back!!!
The trailer storage across Rice rd seems to be complete and filling.
The price is right, about $19 a month last I paid the bill.
Karaoke Sat nites at the Rio bar. Great food specials too.
New dock is in.
And some great prices on units in the park.
Two Couples were celibrating buying places under $29K.
Remember the 4 month live in rule, and the $500 plus bones a month BLM rent, and no open storage at you unit anymore.
This means NO boats under the carport too.
That sux.
Spotting lots of Desert Fox's. Not to be confused with Coyotes.
They are half the size and look like dog show champions.
I suggest anyone that likes to feed the Burros go back off Rice Rd at least 100 ft because they spook easy and will run right into vehicle traffic.
Some are mean so be packin' and ready.
I got to EC Sat. afternoon (4:30?) JBGuru was there on the beach w/ Boatnam, Jas, Linda and Barry. I got to take a ride & drive a yellow / orange Daytona turbo v-drive :thumbsup We even saw the Mayor and RiverDiva cruising around. It was a bit intimidating but the next morning 6 aM when I took it for a solo run I had a blast and love my new purchase. I met so many nice people. Heard there were a couple DUI's on the water and land just before I got there Sat
I want to thank Tony for hauling the boat in from Cali for me to buy and the driver training, to Barry for additional training and pointers on the motor, and to Stokerwhore and MrsBordmnJ for all the help, hospitality (dinner was over the top) and befriending my kids. My daughter now has a big sister:smackhead and my son can't wait to hang out w/ Jas again to be his golf cart  chaffeur. Thankfully we got to karaoke late Sat. PM and I didn't get sing  Linda, yesterday's lunch was awesome.
Again, thanks Tony. It was great to see you relaxing. So how big was the fish you caught?

I dont think so,basically 3 of then dethreaded while just sitting.Come to find out they are car tires and the twisting just tears them apart.May call extreme but there 3 years old so they will probaly tell me to pound sand.

Wow, yesterday I discovered I got a screw in one of my boat trailer tires and its flat. I've gone through 3 tires since June 26th and 6 tires last summer. Damn new home and road construction debris for the most part. Bummed I never got to meet TPC :(
Powellfest Aug. 15-17:thumbsup, Parker Aug. 23 ? :hmm

the 2 I most recently replaced on my jetboat trailer were matching car tires:swear. They should make it a crime to install / replace trailer tires w/ passenger car tires:skull Look out!!! The tire police, I know:o:point
Thanks again boatnam for the help anchoring my boat and the boat ride. Next time I owe ya a speed run:eek::beer
