1. Rock the Docks - Benefiting the Western Arizona Humane Society

On October 20th and 21st the Rock the Docks event, hosted by Swoop Motorsports and RiverWhips took place at the world famous Nautical Beachfront Resort. This land based boating event was put on as a benefit for the West Arizona Humane Society (WAHS) and featured a Friday lunch run with an evening bikini contest as well as a Saturday banquet with a "Miami style" dock party immediately following. A midway was set up near the convention hall to display some on and off water hardware, with...
2. 2017 DCB Regatta - The Best One Yet!! The End of Regatta Row

View attachment 600283

The DCB Regatta is typically the end of the fall Regattas that I have always coined "Regatta Row" and to put it bluntly we really are saving the best for last from an event stand point. The DCB has always been one of the largest regattas of the season from both an entry standpoint and a crowd for the awards and after party.

As we are nearing the end of "Regatta Row" (the busiest month of the season for us here at RDP), we come to the second to the last regatta on our calendar. I have said it for years and this one is no different, the Howard Regatta is easily in my top three events of the season. It primarily stems from the vibe of the weekend which derives itself entirely from Gene Willen himself.

4. 2017 Shockwave "Notta Regatta!"

View attachment 600245

Here's a little story I got's to tell about three bad brothers you know so well. It started way back on RDP with Marcus, Mike and of course Scott B. They hall had some Shockwaves, I know this sound rehearsed, They all had bad ass boats and wanted to be the first. They posted a little thread to see who else would go, little did they know people would ask for more.

The 7th Annual Billy B River Rockets Regatta took place on August 15, 2017. If you love V Drives, Pirates Cove in Needles California was the place to be! For lovers of V-Drives, and all things truly custom this year surely did not disappoint! Originating in Needles at the Jack Smith Park, this is the 4th year at Pirates Cove for this annual get together and the turn out this year did not disappoint.
I've said it before....
6. Lake Powell Challenge... Raising Big Money With A View

2017 marked the 9th running of the annual Lake Powell Challenge through the scenic sand stone canyons of Lake Powell. While the name may imply a competition of some sort, the real challenge of this great event is not to out run your fellow Poker Runners but rather to raise more money for charity than the year before. The good people at Antelope Point Marina who put the event on take great pride in bringing together...
7. 2017 Schiada Regatta! I got your trailer queen right here!

My favorite "Non Event" of the season has always been the Schiada "Notta Regatta." It's a laid back weekend with no real schedule other than to be at the Casino Beach at some point in the morning, and likely end up at Fox's at some point in the afternoon. (That actually is the total schedule of the entire weekends festivities in case you are wondering). What the non event does do is rewind the river back to it's hey days with 21' Day cruisers (most with monster power in them)...
8. Hallett's in Havasu 2017! What a Great Time with some AWESOME BOATS!

For the second year in a row Hallett's in Havasu did not disappoint! This year boasted 60 boats at the Springs Saturday morning for breakfast, with over 200 people in attendance! (Click Video Links Below)

9. 2017 Campbell Spring Round Up

View attachment 600069

The 2017 Campbell Boat Owners annual Spring Round Up, dropped anchor on Friday, May 19 th in Lake Havasu City. On Friday afternoon, an informal run to Havasu Springs for lunch was made to conduct some pre Spring Round Up water testing. A couple of these boats had not been in the water since late last year, so a small trip was in order to make sure everything was seaworthy.

10. 2017 Lucas Oil - "Colorado River Challenge" - Parker AZ Drags

View attachment 599930

Last weekend was a big one for the Blue Water Casino on the Colorado River. The Lucas Oil Drag Boat
series was in town for their first of two stops at this venue and it didn't disappoint. Having been my
first time at this venue, I gotta say I was thoroughly impressed. Compared to the Wild Horse Pass
Motorsports Park in Chandler, this venue felt like I was on vacation. Not to say that Wild Horse is bad
because its not. But for what I was here to do "Shoot Photos...
11. Crazy Fun at the 2016 Monster Bash!

View attachment 599689

Typically I write articles about the events as an observer, or a vendor. I've been to quite a few Monster Bash's, and Desert Storm's over the years, but to speak candidly I almost never participate in them. This year would mark the first year I have ever sponsored Monster Bash (we usually just do Desert Storm), and instead of just doing our usual booth and parties, we decided we wanted to actually run it!

12. Positive Trim does the Howard Regatta with RDP

View attachment 599655

One of my favorite events of the year is the late summer Howard Regatta. The event offers major drool factor with some of the nicest hardware on the lake. The people are so down to earth and friendly, this event encompasses all that makes the lake such an enjoyable place to spend time. This year marks the third year that I participated in the regatta and it was arguably one of the best. Arriving late Thursday night I met up with the rest of the RDP...
13. SCOPE 2016 Long Beach Poker Run!

The west coast's premier offshore powerboat club, SCOPE, along with its title sponsors, Nordic Boats and IMCO Marine, decided to mark the twentieth anniversary of their organization by bringing their annual poker run back to Long Beach. SCOPE has hosted their Poker Run in San Diego for the past two years. The Queen Mary and Long Beach served as backdrops to this year's run which was hosted dockside at...
14. 2016 6th Annual Billy B River Rockets Show at Pirates Cove by Jason Miller

It's been said "Early to bed, early to rise. Makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise". If that holds any truth then on September 17, 2016, Pirate Cove Resort was flooded by genius level boat Owners and Drivers. I began my morning at 7am. Pulling in to Jack Smith Memorial Park in Needles, CA. I was thinking I might catch the beginning of the precession down to Pirate Cove. Maybe some early hot laps. Instead I only found a lot full of empty trailers. After ten minutes and not even hearing a...
15. 2016 Damn Dam Run

As a self proclaimed Havasu boater, I rarely stray from my "happy place" on the Arizona/California boarder. But for the second time in as many years we made the trek north to Lake Mohave for the annual Damn Dam Run. I must admit the drive north to Hoover Dam is some of the most scenic boating I have ever taken in. The trip started with a late night run from So Cal to Havasu to pick up the Howard and a...
