Another interesting one is self checkout at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Typically only one will accept cash, which isn’t a problem since I’m buying material on a card.
I’m not sure why the method of payment matters? You still have to insert the bills so I would imagine counterfeits would be rejected.
I get why “Habit” is doing it ( less employees etc).
But like you’re saying, the line of people can get crazy. Especially when it takes you or me 5 mins to ring up an order that an employee can do in 45 seconds.
I’m not one to go down this rabbit hole. But I feel like cash is on its way out. Like within a few years.
Wife wanted Habit so I walk in and there’s a few kiosks to make your own order and pay by card. No biggie but I just grabbed a $20 so I need someone to ring me up.
