OK for some reason I can't post pics from my gallery (I only use phone to surf the net) so I have to take separate pics... but trim pump is in waiting on new steering and shift cables then I'll be searching for gauges while saving for new tanks and a bravo. 1405040272154.jpg 1405040335228.jpg went with left hand steering because it's what I'm used to from the v drive boats and wife is a lefty anyways.

Today was dmv day. Now this boat had no cf numbers and a missing pink slip as well as it trading hands so many times we had to narrow down who owned it last. So this isn't just a pic of stickers as much as a large achievement in this project. 1405124612617.jpg

Looks great! the colors are very nice and very clean. Did the trailer stiffen up for you once you added the channel, it looks very nice as well!

Thanks man! Yeah channels stiffened it up quite a bit. I'd still like to add more when it comes time to repaint but it's much better then it was.

1405438651224.jpg strongly considering using this all in one gauge from mercury. Only concerns are I've never seen anyone using them and can I see it in the sunlight??

I aint got nothing for you on the gauges but the boat sure is looking good and congrats on the stickers...my turn next week and i've already been told by a little DMV Bitch (guy) that my boat would never be titled in this state:grumble:

I owned it before you got it. Infact Im the one that started sanding off all that crap paint. I got the boat in a trade deal from Jim Rich and then he got it back, I found it was going to be too much of a project for me. I also had a bill of sale from him and gave it back to him. As far as the boat is concerned you did an awesome job on it.
What is Rankin 77? I thought it was a Spectra 20 like this one. uploadfromtaptalk1405477011446.jpg

Damn small world! It is a 20 spectra. My last name is Rankin and it's a 77 so that's where rankins 77 came from. It took a lot of phone calls , waiting for mail back and forth and dmv trips to clear the titles up but it's done now! Lol. You wouldn't happen to have any photos of it when you had it??

Very nice work and glad you fought the good fight and did not give up on her, she is gorgeous. I feel your pain with the DMV as I have had similar dealings with them recently on my ol mans pickup truck and the trailer on my boat. Very nice work and I will be getting a hold of you in the near future reference the gel coat work you did.
thanks

She looks great on the trailer, I sure like the Orange! I wanted to use Orange on mine but just got too conservative. Good luck with the tanks, who is making them or where are you getting them? The shopping center looks like you might be off Arrow Highway up by IMCO..

Fills are also vented. Exhaust tips are partially submerged so I installed them with sea going putty. Hope I don't have to remove them for a bit lol. Gotta knock out a b day party and front yard for the wife then I'll begin fabbing wood for hatch and rear seat.

1418416373143.jpg battery boxes a friend of mine bent up for me out of .125 aluminum. They recess into subfloor 3 inches making them fit under back seat. Trying. To keep engine compartment "clean".

Yes . Only because I cut the battery holders in 90* the wrong way!!! Now I have to remove the seat to get them out. It's only a few bolts so I'm not gonna worry about reglassing floor to change it. Not a great feeling when I realized I did that though lol

Ya I know the feeling! Easy to rectify if you're building a new seat though. Also. what are you spraying the gel with? I guess you have pro equipment from your posts?

We spray it with a pressure pot on the big stuff and a sata top load for the smaller stuff. The white gel is mixed 50/50 with clear prestec. Lays down smoother helps with color sanding and doesn't have to be coated to dry. The colors Are paint. I'm getting super good at repairing it every time the Capped boat hits stuff going into the tight garage !!

1422153172894.jpg made a new back seat that fit battery placement properly. Rough hatch is done. I will grind on it quite a bit to round out sharp lines. Then mat and cloth it .

curious as to why people like to put the batteries under the rear seat? seems like a huge loss of storage.

I am running mine under the rear seat to clean up the engine bay, purely cosmetic for me. I am a flat bottom guy at heart so I am not used to having anything in the boat to store, so I am keeping it that way with the day cruiser

I'm a flat bottom guy as well. Engine compartment must look sano when the hatch is up lol. Also if the batteries die and the hatch is down I can still access batteries to recharge. You will see plenty of storage when I cut the big holes in the floor!!
