Eliminator's doing a lot of upgrades lately...

quick question, bob leach is the founder. is it a Family run business ? any children or relatives involved in it ? also do you have more pics of the 19' hard to see whole boat from the vid

Why all the wood ?

575Cat because that is how you build a nice interior.

Wouldn,t you use other materials besides wood now days .

Such as?

They experimented with plastic for a while,staples didn't like to penetrate,or would come loose.It also proved heavier than a wood frame coated with resin and glass.
Trying to form some of the complex shapes proved a real pita as well.

Shueman and Gelcoater can best answer this but Bob is a very hands on owner, I know his daughter use to be active, not sure what's up with his son Brent.

So whats the deal with the "new" Gel?

According to our vendor, it's has the "clear coat" blended in...we'll see how it looks once we get it rigged and outside...
All I've heard is that it didn't "spray" as firm as the standard stuff...Gelcoater might be able to give some insights...

It's pretty impressive to see the overall condition of the glassed-over-wood in most of the older boats that come in for service/upgrades, etc.
Outside of an "aged" look/coloration, they are rock solid...

ONE-A-DAY just stripped down his '77 19' Daytona...he can prolly vouch for it's condition...

I didn't have anything to do with this boat,don't know what they used.

SG will be racing at Charlotte this weekend so I'm sure he'll get it out on Lake Norman next week.

In fact, another BBQ this wk-nd...

Lots of activity 'round the shop this past week:

27' Daytona w/outboards is just about ready to hit the rigging floor.
33' Daytona getting an open bow, full interior, and other goodies that should be ready for pickup on Saturday.
Older 20' Tahoe getting a new floor...and a "snap" cover.

The boat lives on the water in Arrowhead and Racoons decided to make a home in it this summer...:yikes

And yes, Bob is cookin' up lunch this Saturday from 12noon - 2pm. Our usual faire with some added goodies.
Weather is forecasted to be nice & mild, so come out if you can and spend part of your day with us.

Lots of new builds and customer upgrades happening, plus some newly arrived pre-owned to see.

Paul Wallner's 2008 22' Daytona is getting a COMPLETE facelift and should be here sometime next week.
I really like the updated cowlings...can't wait to see the rest of the boat.:thumbup:

Shueman please let Bob know I will be by there Friday AM.

I think I might be cruising by on Saturday. :thumbup:

I would fix it so the Bimini fits under the hatch. It would really clean it up. Very cool boat.

After everything is torn out, the original wood stringers and transom are nice and dry...look good for being 30yrs old...:cool

Them boyz have quite a few classic/collectable boats...they had a couple of them at the last Parker Show & Shine...

As soon as the 28' Carrera is done, this 36' Coupe is coming back for a COMPLETE CONVERSION to a "Speedster"...BIG JOB !!!

Latest refurb project...27' Daytona.



Customer picked it up in TN last April...it's a little rough around the edges.
He's got it runnin' 100+ with a 525 Stage 3 and decided to bring it to Eliminator for a Winter Refurb.



The boat came down from Colorado Thanksgiving Week and the trailer is over at Extreme.
We've stripped everything off the sides and inside to start the refurb.

We're giving it a Front/Rear Cap and stainless rubrail...should be finished early next week.





New hatch mod just about done, then it's off to upholstery...



Canopies will also be replaced as one was cracked, so we hired this Hollywood model to pose with the new style in the showroom...


Next week: New gelcoat to match the existing pattern/style, add the rub-rail and detail all the exterior.

Eliminator's giving their best Discounts ever on in-stock and new boats, but that's all ending 1/1/15...Bob sez "if your in the market for a new boat, NOW is the time"...just 2 weeks left before Christmas...:thumbup:
