Year:1990
Make: Eliminator
Model:207 skier
Length:20.7
Engine: mercruiser 350 completely stock
Propulsion: alpha one gen 2
Prop: quicksilver aluminum 21p 3 blade
Top speed: 55mph
Pros: doesnt chine walk or porpoise. Its pretty fuel efficient. Plenty of seating.

Cons: low freeboard, slow cruising speed, anything over 2 to 3 foot chop and you better wear a life jacket and a back brace.

Overall: this was my first boat. It hasnt let me down yet and I use it EVERY weekend from march to September. I wish I could get more top speed out of her. When its flat on the water its a pretty boring ride. It cruises at 35mph with a top speed of 55mph using my phone GPS.

Yes it is.

At the time the op's was built we were building 2-3 a week during the busy season,a Very popular model at the time.

I own one too and like it.Its been a solid boat most use is at the river mostly needles to sandbar.

Takes chop fair for its size i just slow it down.I get about 57-60(if everything is perect)but 58 is about it most times for a top speed on gps.350 mag/alpha with a 21p mirage 3 blade.

IIRC, Carrera used the same hull on the 20.5 Elite and 202 XR and Eliminator shared the same mold at that time? Carrera 20.5's didn't handle 70+ MPH very well with a stern drive. Still remember riding in one that a guy bought direct from the factory ( Dennis W) with a 502 MAG and Bravo 1. That thing got scary around 70, fastest the guy had got it up to was like 74 mph. It was a closed deck, myself and another person crawled up to the bow and the owner topped it out around 78. It still got really squirrelly on the top end. This was back in 1990, maybe a 4 blade would have changed the characteristics? The hull at the transom was really bulbous, you could tell that the engine / drive combo was creating so much lift that it would get up on the rear most portion of the hull which had a large radius and just fall over to a side then catch a strake. Really bad things happened when the strake caught, think pitching people out of the boat.
The owner of that grey and multi teal striped boat named it "toxic shock".
Don't over power your boat, you wont like the results.

Funny but that sounds like the same problem my V-drive 20.5 sport cruiser had. You start to wonder if they ever actually drive the boats that they build.

MIne at the rear back part is not rounded it has a flat area at the rear most part of the hull my guess is around the very back and foward about 2.5-3 ft.

The 20.5 elite also has a longer bow area vs the 207s cab foward bow.So the 207 will have more weight at mid point vs the 20.5.The 202 xrs do look similar to the 207.

If you buy it, take the roll bar off IMMEDIATELY!! I thought this one sold?? :headscratch:

Yea, it sold...twice !!! But, it's still available ... :rolleyes I like it 'cuz that 454 just purrs... I gotta (have it) for NOTTA ... :D

I want it for a "chase boat"... despite the tower fugliness, it will be PERFECT for mounting the GoPros for fly-bye's ...

I have the 350 mag in mine and love the boat overall. These boats would make a way better choice than most newer production boats out there as a first boat.MIne is a 93 and is a solid boat.Just had the interior redone and the seat framing was still in really good shape, doesnt leak any water in it,rides well and does everything i need well.IMO they were built very good.

Only bummer i just had the gimbal bearing go out but its getting fixed soon.

Just Sold My 207 last week. Great boat we had a lot of fun on that boat. Only time we ever had issues was coming back from pirates on a windy day and the lake was victory at sea style took 2' of green water over the bow.

I just purchased a 207 skier. 454 / bravo 1. Mine also has a 21p 3 blade prop, and top speed is 55mph. I definatly need to try the bigger prop, because it gets up to the 55mph quickly and then runs out of rpm.

I bought this boat from Shuman at Eliminator. Took the wake board tower off and sold it to a guy on craigslist. Funny thing, it was going on a 1996 207 ski! We even swapped biminis because mine was a smaller custom fit so it would open underneath the tower!

You should atleast be spinning a 23p i use a 21 and get 60 on a good day but 58mph on most of the rest.Mines just a 350 mag non efi. and does it at 4800 rpm trimmed out.

Get a 23 four blade and it should work great for you. I have 454 mag in my vector and that work out the best for stock engine. I know different hulls but I think it should get close. A 24 pitch 4 blade I tried but didn't have enough horsepower.

Whats the difference between a 23p 3 blade and a 4 blade? (obviously number of blades!) But does a 4 blade get better top end? Or?

The 4 blade makes the boat respond better, turning without cavitation and handles better with steering response. Regarding top speed between and three blade and four would be pretty close to the same speed. I would leans towards a 4 blade. You will notice a big difference how the boat responds.
