Pros: Deep V hull rides excellent in chop, does not chine walk or porpoise, solid ride, steering is excellent(with or without throttle).

I just saw this thread since I havent been on in forever. I have the same boat but an '85 closed bow with a 200 merc on it. I had to do some work to mine to get it to ride descent through chop since the hull is so light and all the weight was so far back (motor was set back approx 15") it would just porpois and bounce like crazy. Cut the set back down to 10" and added some tabs and now the thing will plow through chop and empty the load and it will run quiet dry and close to 70. I think these are fantastic boats for the size and price point. I love mine. And it drives my uncle crazy that it will still run 50 loaded with 7 people, 2 ice chests chairs and all. Lol!
