I think he should be out for life, just like any other player that breaks the law

And what should happen to you if you break the law? Should you lose your job or source of obtaining income?

I would, that would make me unbondable, and my security clearance might also be revoked.

So you're equating grown men who chase a ball around a field, to a high-security profession like your own?

No, but I do equate it to a job that is very hard to get and very skill intensive, just like mine is.

Yes, if you entered into a contract with a Code of Conduct clause that you chose to violate.

Breaking the law is a very blanket statement, how bout we state a felony, that would make more sense.

Haha, a player knocks out his girlfriend and now it's the NFL 's blame that they didn't leak a video. When did it become an employer or leagues business to discipline. The law should handle it and we should boycott if we don't like it.

A large gray area IMO, IMO the law should hand down the punishment as should his employer if he's violated their contract. IMO he was issued a punishment and the NFL should stick by it UNLESS they were flat out lied to.

The league still has a code of conduct policy, for behavior detrimental to the league.
I think punching your wife falls into this category :thumbsup

The Ravens organization he said that Rice told the complete truth about the incident. So I can't imagine he lied to Goodell about it. I just can't seem to comprehend what everyone thought a NFL running back punching a petite woman looked like to change this from 2 games to indefinite AND to terminate his contract.

Ray Rice told NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on June 16 that he punched his then-fiancee in a casino elevator, four sources have told "Outside the Lines," an assertion that contradicts Goodell's statement this week that "when we met with Ray Rice and his representatives, it was ambiguous about what actually happened."

Besides the first TMZ video and Rice's own account of what happened during the June 16 meeting, Goodell also had access to an Atlantic City Municipal Court complaint, dated Feb. 15, which is public record. The complaint alleges Rice committed "assault by attempting to cause bodily injury to J. Palmer, specifically by striking [her] with [his] hand, rendering her unconscious, at the Revel casino."

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello declined to comment Thursday afternoon.

Carolina Panthers have done the right thing by deactivating Greg Hardy today indefinitely following his domestic violence incident this summer where he was found guilty but is now appealing... now if only the 49ers would do the right thing deactivate McDonald

Gotta say, the NFL and the Ravens have just opened themselves up for a lawsuit from Ray Rice I would think.

His actions and that video are disgusting, no doubt about it.
BUT, he seemingly laid it all out on the table from the beginning.
He never denied it, never hid it, never defended it.
He put himself at the mercy of the team brass and the league, and took the verdict.
Was it minimal? Oh hell yes...and undoubtedly swept under the rug in a big way.

Yet now TMZ releases the vid that the NFL almost certainly buried initially and they proceed to crucify Rice simply to cover their ass.

I realize that double jeopardy doesn't apply outside of the justice system, but it seems glaringly obvious that Rice (and his family) are being ROBBED so the nfl can attempt to continue a lie.

Sorry, but I'm not going to jump on the soap box bandwagon here crucifying Rice.

His punishment was already meted , right or wrong.
What happens next week if a different angle video is released? Banned for life?

Top football sponsor Anheuser-Busch on Tuesday lashed out at the National Football League over a series of recent off-field scandals.

"We are disappointed and increasingly concerned by the recent incidents that have overshadowed this NFL season," the NFL's official beer sponsor said in a statement.

"We are not yet satisfied with the league's handling of behaviors that so clearly go against our own company culture and moral code. We have shared our concerns and expectations with the league."

http://www.cnbc.com/id/102000808

Would those expectations include the termination of one Roger Goodell? Come on ice cream!:D

The NFL has a long way to go to correct their policies, but I'm not on board with advertisers coming across all indignant about the situation. Rather than lashing out, why not step up with constructive suggestions and aiding the NFL in making changes. By the statements above they are opening themselves up to media finding out where they hide their own dirty laundry and throwing that out for public review. I highly doubt the AB corp is all squeaky clean anymore than any large organization employing large numbers of people.

After all, Rice and now Peterson were not at NFL functions or facilities. They were on personal time just like any number of AB employees who have likely committed similar actions or worse. Those folks just aren't "famous" athletes who ignite media frenzy.

I'm disappointed in AB and other sponsors for the approach they are taking and the threats. More negativity is not an answer or solution to societal issues overlapping sports and other businesses' employees on their personal time.

The blame game is not the solution to anything, but it seems to be front and center in every incident that arises these days.

I agree 100% Tex, I just have some dough riding on Mr. Goodell.

It's kinda of a win/win for me because I would also love for the NFL to tell everyone...................:finger

Yep. She is on the College Football selection committee this year. :p

She's a football know it all. Politically it could make this all go away. It checks all the right boxes to make this NFL issue disappear in a blink of an eye. Educated women minority with a political background? Yikes. Goodell should be worried.

She has said that being an NFL commish would be a dream come true.

Regor might win some money if her name starts to be mentioned in the media lol

These corporate guys crack me up.

So Anheuser-Busch is upset about the behavior of NFL players?

Interesting, I sort of remember some stuff about August Busch IV back in Tucson, then they later made him Chairman.

Oh yeah, do as I say, not as I do.

Accident resulting in death of Michele Frederick:

While attending the University of Arizona, Busch was in an auto accident that resulted in the death of his passenger, 21-year-old Michele Frederick, a local waitress. According to witnesses, Busch had left a bar early one morning with Frederick. The vehicle wrecked at a 25mph curve known for accidents. The car went airborne, flipped, and Frederick flew through the sunroof and was probably killed instantly when the car rolled over her. Busch left the car at the scene of the accident without informing anyone. When police arrived on the scene hours later they found empty Bud Light cans scattered in and around the car, along with August Busch IV's drivers license. Police found Busch at his Tucson townhouse 4 miles (6 km) away, with blood on his body, a sawed-off shotgun, and in a dazed condition exhibiting signs of amnesia. After a lengthy investigation by Tucson police, Busch wasn't charged with any wrongdoing, due to lack of evidence. As a normal procedure, blood and urine samples were taken from Busch when he was taken into custody hours after the accident. The samples would have confirmed whether he had been drinking and how much at the time of the accident. However, the hospital "lost" the urine sample, and the blood sample had been run through a centrifuge, rendering it useless. No one in the hospital staff was able to explain what happened to the samples. Police investigator Ron Benson said that in all his career he had never before seen samples mishandled by hospital staff. Unable to find any other evidence of substantial wrongdoing (other than leaving the scene of an accident), the police reported they saw no legal option but to drop the case. Deputy Ron Benson, in charge of the investigation, said years later that "I didn't feel good about [dropping the case]. My gut told me this guy was drunk and killed this girl and I couldn't do my best for her because the [blood and urine] evidence just disappeared. "The Frederick family probably reached a secret settlement of an undisclosed sum with Busch attorneys, according to Busch family biographer William Knoedelseder. August IV's mother, Susie Busch, said in a newspaper column that her son had not been treated justly, saying that "there is no just treatment for families with a name and money."

When Mr. Busch was made Chairman, the Busch family did not own it either. It was a public company and the family only owned about 1% of the shares of the public company.

Anheuser-Busch remains a division of a larger public company headquartered in Belgium.

We can split a frogs hair four ways I suppose.

My point was that no Busch family, to my knowledge, is associated with the direction and/or governance of today's Anheuser-Busch. I see them as two different companies with only the name in common.

It's hard for me to see the correlation I guess.

Holy shit, I didn't know frogs had hair? Learn something every day.

The point was that all those corporate higher ups are somewhat inconsistent. I suspect you would not have to look far into any of the companies claiming disgust, to find one of their employees guilty of the same activities but still working.

No big deal. Another day in America. :D

When was I "dealt with" before?

Are you having "those" dreams again?

To be honest, I was truly hoping for a Tom Brown stand in.
Some one who could think past the end of their last typed sentence and possibly offer some sort of challenge?
Sadly, that has not been the case.

I welcome this match, but at least try to put a little effort into it. It's embarrassing.
All you've done is make shit up and run your yap. :cool
Providing a platform for '86 to hit the thanks button is not exactly what I would call a stirring victory.

So do a little research, maybe pay attention to your composition and construction, don't be afraid to try some big words, and for Gods sake stop trying to use me to impress your little groupies.

If you can't bring it up a notch or two, I'm going to have to dismiss you. :yikes:D

Now go do your homework, sauceboy.

When these large companies put out press releases, it's for the public.

The concerns they voice to the league are done behind closed doors, and you can bet they take off the kid gloves when you're talking about a billion $$$ sponsorship deal.

A law enforcement official says he sent a video of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancee to an NFL executive five months ago, while league executives have insisted they didn't see the violent images until this week.

The person played The Associated Press a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming the video arrived. A female voice expresses thanks and says: "You're right. It's terrible."

Bye, bye Goodell!

Goodell is going no where. He works for the 32 owners of the teams and he has made them a shit ton of money. They are happy with him and the players for the most part are happy with him. He won't be going anywhere!

You two need a lesson on the left's fury!

How much you want to bet?

I'll take a bet

$200 he's gone within 3 months.

Tic Toc Tic Toc... :D
