Even though we are behind the 8 ball so to speak on time, I'm very happy to say we are WAY AHEAD of where we were last year at this time! This years race budget is 34,000.00 which is basically the same budget as last year, but including the 4,000.00 I personally went upside down after it was all said and done.
So far for sponsors we have
The Blue water Casino / Host hotel - 7000.00
Our Title Sponsor NRKA - 7000.00
Nordic Boats as our first Hall of Fame Sponsor at - 4000.00
Teague Custom Marine as a Charter Sponsor at - 2500.00
Offshore Custom Marine as a Technical Sponsor - 1500.00 (Although they said they might bump that up a bit as the race approaches)
Palomar Solar as a Technical sponsor - 1500.00
Scicon Technologies as a Technical sponsor - 1250.00
And we are waiting to hear back from Napa Auto Parts, Lifeline, and a few other companies that may prove to be really good supporters of the race itself! The excitement amongst the community of Parker is building, and I'm fielding phone calls almost hourly from locals that want to know what's going on, and who's coming.
Which puts us at a total of 24,750 of the 34,000 needed to make sure that the race is 100% PAY BACK on prize money from Entry Fees! I hope to have the remainder of the funds in place by the end of the week! Which would mean on a 40 boat field there is 16,000 total in prize money. Yeah I know, I know, it's not about the money.. But it doesn't hurt.
If you are interested in sponsoring the Enduro with your company feel free to give me a call and I can go over the sponsorship packet with you and discuss options. The sponsorship packet can be found under the 336 button at the top of the forum! 949-678-8369
We have hired Carter Bahde to do independant filming of the race itself, and he will be preparing a short video for the awards ceremony, and numerous videos for RDP of the various boats we put go pro's on after the race itself.
The Pirates Den has stepped down on the Friday Night Banquet, but Strokes Bar and Grill has stepped up! We are working through the details of that right now, but I promise it's going to be every bit as fun on Friday night as it was last year! I'm also hoping to pull off an open air BBQ scenario with a little night time Cackle Fest with some Blown Alcohol boats throwing flames to put everyone in the mood for saturday morning.
I just got off the phone with Bob Teague, and he has informed me that they will be bringing TWO GN Boats this year, and are working on Jimmy Benton's Tub of Fools boat which would make Three! Combine that with Dirk Olsen and Ryan Heiser's Collective Effort boat, and that makes 4 that are running in that class outside of the Schiada's and other cruisers. I'd look for big things and neck and neck racing in that Division this year. There are several other guys that I know that are coming, but want to keep their cards close to their chest for the time being, mostly because some of the negative Chatter on the internet.
I talked to Scott Schatz last night regarding some of the concerns regarding the Green Motor changes. Scott is fairly amicable this year and seemed to be in a good mood. He said he would be willing to talk to anyone, and if we had to make some minor changes to them to make them make more sense for that class he's open to listen, so that's a good thing. The most important part of that program is the approach, and I can tell you he doesn't respond well to the my way or the highway program, so keep that in mind if you shoot him a call or an e-mail. Overall he explained the changes to me, and again they make sense, but to quote what every person has said to me since last year "What do I know about boat racing." I'm not the race director, so again any concerns please give him a shout, but understand TIME IS SHORT, so the sooner the better.
In other good news, Scott has secured the same Scorers as last year, and Kelly Ireland will be bringing out her Electronic Scoring system again! This is nice because each team doesn't have to provide their own scorer, and we can put out real time race updates with who's leading, and pack positions on the fly during announcing. Huge Thanks to Mrs Rustin, and Kelly for again coming out to support the race!
On the T Shirt front, I'm hoping to have both sets of graphics for both T Shirts done in the next couple of days. We will be doing one with Collective Effort GN911 shirt on the Back as they are the Title sponsor, and one with the OCM STV on the back as they are last years winner.
That's about all for now, but now that we are getting close to race day, we will be updating members, spectators and racers alike a lot more frequently so everyone knows what to expect, and knows the Schedule of the weekend!
