After 14 years the flatty is coming along

My girlfriend was going to surprise me and get my flatty going but she knew I would notice it gone. It was a happy day when she told me I was never getting a birthday or Christmas gift for a long time.

I bought the boat along time ago without the motor. Guy didn't want to sell it nor could I afford it then. About 8 years ago he approached me and asked if I wanted to buy it. Scratched the money together and here it is. Its a 472" Keith Black built dry sumped injected motor. Racey's dad re did the boat sometime in the early 80's I believe.

Okay that engine picked up my interest that's going to be way bad ass I like it.

Pipe down Hawkes. She's probably figuring I'll scare the shit out of myself and sell it to buy a "family" boat. We went to the river a couple weeks ago. Good thing there were some flattys with more then one person in it. Every one that went by I said "see honey, its a family boat!"

Beats what I did. I just went and bought a flat.

Probably in the next couple months. Have to do a little work to the seals and steering in the boat. Motor is good. Raceys father said the motor had no time on it. Going to finish the boat stuff then drop the motor in and fire it up. Headers are getting ceramic coated now. I'm not doing anything myself. Not quite qualified. Billy at Dunsmore is doing it all. Told him to take his time. Going to stick a bench seat in it since I have to make it a family boat so that's got to get re done. Just seeing any progress on it makes me excited.
